Guest Posted June 17, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 17, 2004 Ok, have just recieved rules from AM EX--only Plat with the $395 fee applies--NO OTHER CARDS APPLY--Congrats to those that slipped in--Now they have a disclaimer(that I am holding) faxed to TA that they have to sign and send back!! I just signed up on web as I need the 2 for 1 Business class for a Nov trip! FRANK
Krazy Kruizers Posted June 18, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 18, 2004 fboo75 Frank, what disclaimer did your TA have to sign? You didn't mention it.
Guest Posted June 18, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 18, 2004 It is a 2 page rules and regulations with everything that is NOT covered --which cards etc.---if they turn in and AM EX issues in error -they would be resposible!! FRANK
Krazy Kruizers Posted June 18, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 18, 2004 fboo75 We have used Am Ex Platinum for a long time. And our TA has never had to sign any kind of disclaimer.
Guest Posted June 18, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 18, 2004 this must have just started because of the confusion of which cards apply---but I have a copy here at my office---wish it was different as I paid with Delta Plat--I just applied for the regular Platium as I will make $$$ on the shipboard credits!! sail7seas Posted June 18, 2004 #6 Share Posted June 18, 2004 Ditto here...... Been getting HAL (and other cruiseline) shipboard credits through AmEx Platinum Agreements for many, many years. TA never signed anything like that. <img src=http://domania.us/DaveEdwards/HALlogo.gif>
CruisinNana Posted September 24, 2018 #7 Share Posted September 24, 2018 On my upcoming cruise, HAL refused to combine my Shareholder OBC with my Platinum AmX perk. I was not happy! I felt as if I pay dearly for both and one reason I have both is for the OBC perks....and then I could only use one on the 14 night cruise! sail7seas Posted September 24, 2018 #8 Share Posted September 24, 2018 It is only the plain, Am Ex platinum card which is not joined with Costco, Delta or any other entitty. OnLY the Am Ex Platinum that carries the very high annual member ship fee.
Krazy Kruizers Posted September 24, 2018 #9 Share Posted September 24, 2018 We have always been able to combine our AMEX Platinum shipboard credit with our CCL shipboard credit. Did you get your AMEX Platinum card through American Express? If you got it from anywhere else, HAL will not except it.
awhcruiser Posted September 24, 2018 #10 Share Posted September 24, 2018 Which platinum card do you have? On my upcoming cruise, HAL refused to combine my Shareholder OBC with my Platinum AmX perk. ksmaxey Posted September 24, 2018 #11 Share Posted September 24, 2018 So do you have to book through Amex travel to get the platinum travel benefit? What is the amex platinum benefit. I am booked for February through our PCC and have paid everything so far with our Am Ex platinum (final payment still due)
sail7seas Posted September 24, 2018 #12 Share Posted September 24, 2018 You can use a TA who pays an annual sum t o Am EX for All their platinum clients, not each indiividually and if it is the high end Am Ex Platinum card not joined with any other entity, you will get the HAL benefits. The sum they pay is not huge.
ksmaxey Posted September 24, 2018 #13 Share Posted September 24, 2018 Thanks sail. I booked through PCC so I guess that won't work unless I transfer the reservation to Amex Travel or another travel agent. I like having the PCC who is able to upgrade cabins and quick upsells. We booked great many HAL cruises with PCC and always got the oBC. The a greement is BETWEEN hal and AM EX Platinum so of course, HAL PCC qualify. Using a HAL PCC was never an obstacle to our getting the OBC
