bestdogever Posted July 22, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 22, 2017 On an August Alaskan cruise, are the pools on the Ruby open and if so, are they heated? Thanks!
jamiski Posted July 22, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 22, 2017 We were on in May, and all of the pools were open. We only went in the aft Horizon Terrace Pool, assuming it was heated as it was surprisingly warm given the air temps for most of the week. The mid-ship pool was open and often populated with kids. bestdogever Posted July 22, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted July 22, 2017 Thanks for the information Jamiski. Is there anything in particular we should know about the Ruby, or do you have any suggestions? This is our first time on the Ruby.
skynight Posted July 22, 2017 #5 Share Posted July 22, 2017 Thanks for the information Jamiski. Is there anything in particular we should know about the Ruby, or do you have any suggestions? This is our first time on the Ruby. Have you been on other Princess Grand Class ships? If yes, you will find the layout similar to the older Grand Class ships and just about identical to the Emerald and Crown. If no then check out: Free Dining at the International Cafe 24/7, Horizon Ct./Cafe Caribe buffet open 6am to late evening never closes during that time, DR's, breakfast and dinner each day, lunch on sea days only and embarkation day, 24 hr room service limited menu, Trident Grill 11am to late evening, Pub Lunch some sea days in the Wheelhouse Bar. Like espresso drinks think about the cafe selects card, $35 for 15 espresso drinks plus unlimited brewed coffee and special tea during the cruise. Free coffee prepared from concentrate & a nice selection of free teas available in the buffet all the time it is open and in the DR's during meals. Like quiet check out the Adagio Lounge. Also check out Skywalker's, great views. Read the Princess Patter each day for all the events and activities. Watch for some "events" that are really sales talks, like spa talks. JF - retired RRT Posted July 22, 2017 #9 Share Posted July 22, 2017 I don't believe that Princess pools are heated. It's the luck of the draw. Sometimes heated, sometimes not.
sherryf Posted July 22, 2017 #10 Share Posted July 22, 2017 I'm pretty sure they are heated somewhat. I've been in Princess pools in Alaska. While not as warm as I might like, they are tolerable, not cold.
