Give me my money!

Recommended Posts

With early save price drops, I'm afraid we'll have too much onboard credit to use on a 4-day cruise. (I know, it's a tough situation to have.) As an experienced cruiser, I know where I could spend it. However, can someone walk me through...step by step for someone who doesn't ever use the casino...how I can "cash out" if we find there's too much left over in our account?

Thanks so much!

go to the casino

1. Insert your sail & sign card into the machine

2. Press set up pin number & follow the directions to set up a pin number (this is for your casino account) follow all prompts until it says you are done.

3. When done, press the button that says charge your sail & sign account

4. punch in the amount you want to get & press enter

5. Wait for the amount to show up on the machine as a credit

6. Either spin or press cash out & it will go on your casino account you set the pin number up for.

7. When it's done uploading your credits, make sure your credit balance is 0 on the machine (so you'll know you did it right)

8. Withdraw your card from the machine, go to the casino cage & cash out.

At the end of the cruise, simply go to GS to cash out. They'll give you your refundable OBC. If you don't do this they send you a check.

We don't carry much money on our cruises and use a credit card for everything. If for some reason we need to have actual cash for a port, we will also use this method. Whatever you pull from your S&S card is listed as Entertainment and will be charged to your credit card as a purchase and not a cash advance so there is no fee. It's easier than using an ATM and you don't have to look for a "free" one in your port. Never use the ATM on the ship because it is too expensive. Just remember to do this while you are at sea since the casino is closed while in port.

All refundable OBC can be gotten from Guest Services but it is the non-refundable OBC that you need to use this method for.

Couldn't you get it from the Kiosks on board?? Perhaps get some out everyday?

At the end of our cruise, we had funds still in our account and the night before debarkation we simply got our excess funds from the kiosk.

Yes...the Kiosk is the way to go. Swipe your S&S card, create a PIN and withdraw your cash. Takes about 90 seconds if you pay attention to the instructions on the screen. I withdrew over $1200 in OBC from ES price reductions on the Magic a couple years ago via the Kiosk. I would rather have a small balance on my credit card and a handful of cash as opposed to waiting for a check in the mail.

No need to fuss around in the smoke-filled casino or wait in line at GS.

Plus at the Kiosk you have access to a better statement of account than what is available via the TV in your cabin.

Sometimes there is a line...but usually not.

Badfinger,

I have some OBC as well as gift cards. If I apply my gift cards can i also use the Kiosk (I read I can do it at the casino) to withdraw both OBC and the gift card balance?

And is there a fee to withdraw money from the kiosk?
