Luggage drop off before embarkation

My Wife and I want to visit Alcatraz before getting on our ship.

How early can we drop off our luggage at the pier?

Typically between 9:00 and 9:30 but it varies by port. I know that in Miami I have left luggage as early as 9:15, without any problem. I don't know how it will work in SFO.

Hopefully, you are traveling in the day before your cruise so just leave your luggage with the bellman/front desk and pick up before heading to the ship.

I advise you to purchase tickets online well ahead of time. We were just there a few weeks ago and day the tours were completely sold out for weeks.

BTW, this is a tour that defies the conventional wisdom about touristy tours. I'm a local and kicking myself that it took me more than 25 yrs to go to "the rock."

BUY THE TIX NOW and also try to score a restaurant reservation at the Slanted Door in the Ferry Building (sooner than later).
