Driving down to Miami - to book a hotel or wing it

We are driving down to Miami - will more than likely be coming down I95 and trying to figure out if we should book a hotel room in advance or wing it. It will be during spring break - would need a room on the 25th of March. Thoughts? We have done this in the past, just not during spring break. Thanks!

In addition to that week (Easter week) being spring break for many schools, the 25th is Good Friday and the beginning of Easter weekend. It's hard to think of a busier weekend. Reserve something now that you can cancel if necessary.

I would book a room for sure, and like the others have said with the option to cancel before you get there. I have a cool app on my smart phone called Hotel tonight, and it lists the hotels available and the prices.

It's a personal thing. I would rather have something worked out in advance, so I know the quality of the hotel and the price I'm going to pay.

Me too! I want to know that I have a room in the hotel that I want. I did the "wing it" once and I will NEVER - EVER do that again! No vacancy everywhere that I would feel comfortable staying.
