#1Nanna Posted January 16, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2018 We will soon be on a 7 night Mexican Riviera cruise on the Ruby Princess. Do they offer sushi in the buffet? If so is it only on a certain day? Lunch or dinner or both? Thanks in advance for your info. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Sent from my iPhone using Forums Can’t say which days but will point out that if you are a real sushi lover you will be disappointed in what Princess offers. I enjoy going out for a sushi meal and would rate the on board offerings at a C- at best, both for quality and variety. I may have a couple of pieces when putting together an Asian style lunch but I do not search it out.
sfaaa Posted January 16, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 16, 2018 Yes, Ruby had sushi at Lido buffet dinner one night. Nothing to write home about but it's AYCE. So no complaint.
satxdiver Posted January 16, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 16, 2018 Not exactly a meal or even what sushi lovers like but Vines offers a sushi appetizer with each purchase of a glass of wine.
Taer al Saefer Posted January 17, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 17, 2018 It was...bad. The sashimi was sliced like smoked salmon and the texture was very odd. The rolls were okay though, they did the best the could. We had it on Asian night which was day 2 for us.
sfaaa Posted January 17, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 17, 2018 Yes, it was smoked salmon (the one you see at breakfast) so the taste was a bit off. Ramen station had miso soup and tasty ramen noodles. A nice complement to go with sushi.
Daisyloo Posted January 17, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 17, 2018 Our experience with cruise ship sushi has not been good. It looks like it will be good but it's not. :(
#1Nanna Posted January 18, 2018 Author #8 Share Posted January 18, 2018 Thanks so much for your help. Sounds like if I see it I may give it a try but at least I know now not to get my hopes up. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
