Gift card question

If i get the discounted gift cards from AARP can i take them on board with me and use them as cash for my sign and sail account? I don’t want to use them to purchase cruise cash ahead of time because if you don’t use all of it you lose it. Another question is if I am able to use it as cash on S&S account, will any overage be refunded as cash or given back on a gift card?

Yes, you can. Redeem them against your S&S acct at either Guest Services or a workable kiosk.

Whenever I've brought gift cards to redeem on board, I still had a small balance left to charge, so I never got a gift card balance back, but I've read here that is indeed what happens.
