Upgrade Offer on Carnival Elation - room below galley on Empress?

We are cruising March 1 on the Elation. I got an email to upgrade from mid-ship OV Riveria to mid-ship OV Empress for $40 total. I like the Empress deck's closer location to the bar. ;p However, I have never stayed just under the galley. I'm looking for advice on how noisy it is with the galley above. Has anyone stayed in these rooms? I'm a fairly light sleeper....

BTW, this is my first ever upgrade offer! I'm kind of excited just to get it, even if we don't take it. :D

I would pass. That's not a good location. Think clanging pots and pans early in the morning.

Noises from the Galley would not make for a fun time cruise.

Empress deck is where I like to be on Elation but forward of the Galley. I've never been under the galley.

I would pass on that even for free. You do not want to be under the galley or the dining room. Sliding chairs around at midnight and 6am.
