Nassau Shore Excursion Escape

Say an excursion is 3 hours long by NCL is the transportation back to the ship always ready to leave when you are? I am thinking of a beach break but not staying the full length of the tour. I just want to walk and swim at a nice beach in the Bahamas for an hour. DH hates the beach! Am I out of luck?

What beach? I don’t think I’d book a ship excursion for an hour on a beach, I’d just go to a beach.

Balmoral Island Beach or Discover Atlantis and Beach Break. One tour is 4 1/2 hours the other 5 hours. I really want a white sandy beach to walk on with turquoise water to swim in. Any suggestions to which tour is better than the other?

If you just want to go to a beautiful beach for an hour, take a taxi to cabbage beach, a free public beach right next to RIU, the same beach as Atlantis. You can even rent a chair and umbrella, and get drinks from vendors. The last time we were there, the water was crystal clear with beautiful black and white fish swimming around. There is also a free public beach at cable beach, which has s mire gentle surf. Again, just grab a cab.

Cabbage beach is indeed safe. If you feel like walking you can walk to Junkanoo Beach.

Blue Lagoon will be better than Balmoral for a short trip. They also have regular boats heading back and forth and you can hop on one after an hour or two. They have a bar and buffet restaurant if your husband wants to get off the sand as well.

Another couple options would be a day pass to the Melia which is under $50 and on cable Beach. You get pools, beach, and they have restaurants plus a killer daq shaq right in front of the hotel.

Also Love Beach which would be a decent drive but not crowded, a little more local, really nice and there is the Nirvana beach bar.
