Rottweiler Puppy Posted March 23, 2012 #3 Share Posted March 23, 2012 it must be george bush's fault LOL Reminds me of when the nutjobs were blaming Katrina on Bush saying he made the storm to kill black people. Hell they blamed him for EVERYTHING. LOL
sailaway4 Posted March 23, 2012 #4 Share Posted March 23, 2012 No,it is debris from the Japan tsunami. ( Accuweather is blaming our above normal heat in Chicago area on the same)
PaulMedik Posted March 23, 2012 #5 Share Posted March 23, 2012 it must be george bush's fault We had a storm roll in right after we got lunch on our HMC day back in 2009; It rained so hard that we lost sight of our ship; The majority of the HMC sun worshipers headed to the ship as the storm rolled in and as you can see many of them were on tenders by the ship as the storm past by; By the time we left, the sky was beautiful and everyone was gone;

willy32465 Posted March 23, 2012 #7 Share Posted March 23, 2012 It amazes me that people spend the day in the water but as soon as is starts to rain they run for shelter.
cobianlover Posted March 23, 2012 #8 Share Posted March 23, 2012 Bear with me folks.......never "been there, done that".....so barring a monsoon making it impossible to tender....if a storm like that blows in and the majority of folks head back to the ship, is EVERYONE required to leave? gusandgidgetsmom Posted March 24, 2012 #9 Share Posted March 24, 2012 They only require you to leave if the storm is going to make it dangerous to tender. I hate when you have to miss HMC. It is our favorite island.

dst Posted March 24, 2012 #12 Share Posted March 24, 2012 I love the rain (lived in Seattle for 15 years) would not mind a little rain shower when we visit in August, it clears everything out :D The pictures of the progression are wonderful
MrPete Posted March 24, 2012 #13 Share Posted March 24, 2012 I don't mind showers, but we had rain in all three ports of our Legend cruise, and the same in most of our stay in our last Bermuda cruise.
ddloml Posted March 24, 2012 #14 Share Posted March 24, 2012 We had a beautiful, sunny, but windy day when we were scheduled for HMC last fall. The captain decided it was too windy to tender and so we had an unscheduled 'Fun Day at Sea' instead.:(

PaCUfan Posted March 24, 2012 #16 Share Posted March 24, 2012 It POURED all day when we were there in June. But even in a monsoon its the prettiest place I've ever been to!
mondello Posted March 24, 2012 #17 Share Posted March 24, 2012 What/where is HMC? HMC is Half Moon Cay, a private island in the Bahamas. Was formerly Little Salvador Island before being acquired by HAL. After Carnival Corp. acquired HAL, CCL ships now make stops at HMC although HAL has first dibs on HMC. It is a beautiful beach day and they set up a big lunch service for everyones enjoyment. Lunch is free; pop, beer and alchohol drinks can be purchased. Just curious because we rented one. Thanks! nina_930, Half is dry and half wet. DW pulled a lounger back under the dry part and slept thru most of the rain; I hit the water once it really started pouring and loved every second of it. Watching the ship disappear; DW snug and dry; View of the ship from the water; Cruise Critic friends from Canada who had the cabana beside ours also enjoyed the water during the storm; Just when we thought it was raining as hard as it could, it would then rain even harder; Karen said it was the best sleep she ever had, but I sure wish she had been with me;
