Gampy1967 Posted September 24, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 24, 2018 Quick question. I looked at some dailies of the Dawn for the Bermuda cruise and it shows the required Lifeboat Drill taking place at 3:00p. We are on a cruise out of Puerto Rico in March that departs at 8:00p. Will the mandatory Lifeboat drill still be at 3:00p (I know they have makeups) or will it be later, and if so about what time based upon an 8:00p ship departure? Just wondering because I would like to make specialty dinner reservations on the first night and don't want to make them during the mandatory drill and basically lose that reservation. Thanks. And yes, I know I am probably over-planning.

don't-use-real-name Posted September 24, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 24, 2018 Good to know. So if I can book the reservation then I should be fine. Thanks. During the LifeBoat muster drill all services are shut down briefly - - - Restaurants - Bars - Gift Shop - Duty Free - Spas - Photo Shop - etc. Seems odd that the muster drill is held hours before sailing - in this case a 5 hour gap ? This maybe unique to the Port and sailing. Check further with NCL for the best answer advice.
Rare KeithJenner Posted September 24, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 24, 2018 Muster drills tend to be later in the day for later departures, but they can still happen quite a while before departure once you get towards meal times. My guess is that muster drill on this cruise will happen at around 4.30 or 5pm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
brookie848 Posted September 24, 2018 #6 Share Posted September 24, 2018 When we sailed out of San Juan last year (9:00 p.m. departure), our muster was at 4:30.

Will shoot for no earlier than 6:00p dinner reservations then.
