earliest disembarkation on Liberty of the Seas

Galveston is well known for its fog delays, especially now & into March. Watch the posts on the board. A few weeks ago a ship did not get into port until 1:30 in the afternoon due to fog. Because of this & also because we fly into Houston we always stay over a day & leave out of Houston on Monday. If, like they say, weather permitting, & all goes well, yes, you could start your departure as early as seven. We only did that once, our first cruise out of Galveston, & the self departure was a nightmare. It wound through dining rooms, the casino, out onto the deck & back into the ship. Hallways were jammed with people & luggage. If you were lucky enough to catch an elevator you almost could not get out of them because of the congestion. Took quite a while to get off the ship & I was starting to worry about our flight. And it was cold & damp on the deck! We made our flight but decided it was not worth the stress to try that again!

It does depend on your itinerary, the time of year you travel (fog could be any time between Dec - March), and how early you get in line to get off. I live near Hobby Airport and the earliest I've ever made it home was 8:30. (Off the ship, through customs, take shuttle to my car, drive 45ish minutes)

I would not recommend a flight before noon.

How much later typically?

anywhere from an hour to 3 hours later, depending on the stuff that needs to happen when returning( crew changes etc)

we were always suites, so disembarked immediately after self. we drove as we lived in San Antonio at the time. we got on the road as early at 8 am to as late as noon. ( both itineraries)

Don't mean to hijack thread.

On board March 4, what time do you have to be off ship, flight not untill 5pm

so in no hurry, need to schedule car for pick up, prob. go to space center to

kill time. thanks

They want you off by 9:30am or 10am.

We originally had a 12:30 p.m. flight schedule out of Hobby but after seeing all the info on fog, changed it to 5 p.m. And we rented a car for the week instead of shuttle here, Uber there, etc....then we are in control and can get to where we want to go when we want to go and it wasn't any more expensive than using a service to and from the airport to the hotel, to the port, to the airport, etc. We'll just go to the space center assuming there's no fog and we can take our time. Problem solved.
