I just realized that I’m going to be on a ship during the Kentucky Derby. Does Carnival do anything special like a watch party? Mint julep specials?

There is no more network TV on Carnival, afraid they won't be airing the Derby. They can get i for special events like the Super Bowl, but it's very expensive.

Sports Bar should have it - they have access to a lot of stuff that you can't get in the cabin - we saw them flipping through all their options on Vista in January

In 2015 when American pharaoh won the Belmont for the triple crown the cruise director threw a party in the sport bar on the splendor and gave free champagne to everyone when he won.

I feel your pain. My son's graduation is right in the middle of the Kentucky Derby. Then our graduation cruise leaves two weeks later on Preakness Day. At least I'll get the Belmont Stakes.

I believe the Kentucky Derby is on NBC this year, and since Carnival no longer carries ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX, you're probably going to want to ask the Cruise Director once onboard whether the Derby will be televised anywhere on the ship.
