Formal night poll

If formal nights on some cruise lines are what discourage you (or encourage you) from cruising with a certain luxury line, you might want to cast your vote in polls that address this issue.

DISCOURAGES me,,,like to take life easy and dress accordingly on cruises...PS..as long as its "optional" is OK..but NO fancy dress or tux for us...hope they change their policy,,it s one reason I ve NOT booked yet on Silverseas...more leeway on Regent,SeaDream,and Seabourn...:D

While formal attire discourages some it also encourages others.

We are all fortunate to have choice when it comes to cruising.

If we all had the same interests and likes there would be one cruise line and we would all eat and dress and drive the same cars and root for the same sports teams and read the same books and life would be rather boring.

I know several people who would not sail on certain cruise lines because ships are too large or too small or too casual. Is it really necessary for everything to be the same.

Choice is still good.

Again, Keith, I agree. If we all wanted the same thing in a cruise line think how difficult it would be to book a cabin.

If it becomes difficult to book a cabin, then the cruise line or lines would be very prosperous, and that would be a good thing for the industry.

That's why there are so many "niche" cruiselines. For us, we choose Cunard as they stress the old style elegance of ocean liner travel. Oceania has great food & a casual country club atmosphere. No real formal nights, but no boosecruise casual either. Celebrity is kind of a blend of both somewhat formal with a lean to casual dress as well.
