Curling Irons?

DW is concerned about whether or not they will allow her on the Getaway with her curling iron, based on the sentence below from the NCL Prohibited Items listing:

21. Items brought on board the vessel and not supplied by the Company containing any kind of heating element, such as but not limited to: immersion heaters, heating blankets, clothing irons, water heaters, coffee machines with heating/hot plates, etc.

Has anyone else traveled with a conventional curling iron before? Any issues?

I've always brought a curling iron without any issues.

Just traveled with a flat iron with no problems. Mine has a thermal pouch. As soon as I’m done, I unplug and put it in the pouch. No problems!

I traveled on the Jade in January. I had no problem with my curling iron. I do always unplug it when not in use. I also have a heat-proof pouch for storage.

Hair appliances are TOTALLY ALLOWED! No worries! Women would NOT cruise if they couldn't fix their hair! You may also bring your own hair dryer, flat iron, electric curlers...whatever you want!

I always bring my curling iron, never an issue. There are a couple of outlets in the main cabin area, or maybe just one, but regardless she can use it.

not a problem at all. She will be able to use the outlet in the main cabin area, but not the bathroom. I always bring mine.
