I was told that you could bring a small travel clothes steamer on board and I just want to make sure it will not be taken when I try to board. I know you cannot bring an iron, but my friend always brings her clothes steamer.

Per Carnival's Website:

Additional Prohibited Items

  • Clothing irons and steamers (All Carnival ships offer laundry facilities with irons and ironing boards. Fleet-wide valet laundry service is also available for a nominal fee.)

It's always been my understanding as well that steamers are not allowed. We've used the ironing board in the self service laundrette before. If you're concerned about ironing a delicate item, you may be able to take a damp towel with you to the laundrette & put it over your garment to iron it. The only thing we've ever ironed is hubby's cotton dress shirts. I think lots of people use the downy wrinkle release spray or hang in the bathroom during their shower.
