Narrowing down Barcelona Hotels

Reading reviews I narrowed it down to 4 stars under $200 and here is my list:

AC Diplomat, Villa Emilla at the higher end and Hotel Roger DELluria. WE are here for 2 nights and would like to be walking distance to shops and restaurants What do you think

The Diplomat or the Roger de Lluria have better locations.

My good friend and her 11 year old son stayed at the Diplomat last year. They thought the service there was excellent. I know the concierge got them some very nice restaurant reservations!

We've used the Meridien and hotel Ramblas - haven't used yours but I agree with our previous poster that the location is better. What you need to check out is the noise factor and other things. Have you hit trip advisor?

We love Barcelona & can't wait to be back :)

MY TA has stayed at the Meridien but she has recommended the Hotel 1898 for us. Half the price, and across the street. We are overlooking Las Ramblas and can't wait to try it and come back with a review.

May be it'll be helpful: I booked W Hotel through hotwire.com, the price is quite acceptable for a 5-star accommodations.

The 1898 is supposed to be FAB but waay out of my price range! Glad you got a good price there!

we stayed at the Silken Hotel de Havana at a great price and location near Plaza Cataluna and Ramblas Short walk), but quieter than on the Ramblas.

We are headed to Barcelona in April. Staying at AC Diplomatic. Asked for feedback on this board previously and received great reviews.
