cruising the Mexican Riviera out of LA. Is the port closer to Long Beach or LA. Seems they cruise out of both ports

Ruby Princess' Los Angeles departure port is San Pedro at the World Cruise Terminal.

When Princess lists "Los Angeles" as a port call, Long Beach is used. The terminal is the former home of the Spruce Goose and is adjacent to the Queen Mary.

To best of my knowledge Princess does not sail from Long Beach. That port is used by Carnival. So far, I've done 13 Princess cruises out of LA and all of them were from the Cruise Terminal in San Pedro. Post Rep.

Why do you ask? Are you looking for a nearby hotel, or something?

Technically, San Pedro, where the port is located, is within the bounds of the City of Los Angeles. However, geographically, the City of Los Angeles is huge. For example, downtown Long Beach is much closer to San Pedro than downtown Los Angeles is. I think the Long Beach airport is closer than LAX--although airline service to Long Beach is very limited.

We always fly into Long Beach when sailing from San Pedro but there are fewer flights to that airport and not from all cities. It is much smaller and easier to get around in.
