Thorpe Posted May 18, 2014 #27 Share Posted May 18, 2014 Have a wonderful time. This was my first taste of cruising 3 years ago. Same ship and same cruise except I only did the first half to Dover. But it got me hooked on cruising. Feel I did things backwards though..........long cruise first :)
Kiwi Kruzer Posted May 18, 2014 Author #28 Share Posted May 18, 2014 I was checking the Roll Call and someone posted that the 2 day , overnight stop in Yangoon (Rangoon) , Myanmar(Burma) has been cancelled and replaced by a couple of stops in Malaysia. Wonder why? ..

The age demographic on board must be fairly high you would think, to be able to both have the time and afford a cruise like this.:D Edited May 20, 2014 by MicCanberra

While certainly not aimed at teeny boppers , the passengers would want to be in an age group where they are not reliant on regular doctors visits or specialised medication. You would need to be fairly fit and active to undertake such a long cruise.
chchgirl Posted May 20, 2014 #33 Share Posted May 20, 2014 Thanks Kiwi Kruzer for doing up this thread, I love following things like this, this would be my dream one day! And I am one of those who absolutely hates flying, NZ is my limit! (although I have been to Europe 20 years ago..)

NSWP Posted May 30, 2014 #40 Share Posted May 30, 2014 They are alongside at Port Kelang , Malaysia today , so it looks like Yangoon has been cancelled. Are the natives restless in Yangoon ? Hence the itinerary change.
Kiwi Kruzer Posted May 30, 2014 Author #41 Share Posted May 30, 2014 Are the natives restless in Yangoon ? Hence the itinerary change. I asked a similar question in an earlier post ,but no reply as of yet. An overnight in Yangoon may have been a reason that some booked the cruise. No mention of 'reconsider travel' like they do re some countries. Edited May 31, 2014 by NSWP

deemak Posted May 31, 2014 #46 Share Posted May 31, 2014 Hi have a SIL on this cruise and they were notified of the change about a week before the cruise. Yangon is a tidal river port and princess said they had been told the levels were too low for the ship to enter. I'm sure this made it difficult for some cruisers having 8 sea days followed by 5 port days. Denise.
