musigal Posted June 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 12, 2015 Does anyone know if we need to make reservations for day passes at the Marriott? There are 10 people in our party, including 2 children.
Rare crewsweeper Posted June 12, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 12, 2015 A recent review on TA seems to indicate you need a reservation if you're getting the room at the $125 rate. Nothing from a manager comments indicate that a reservation for a day pass without a room is necessary, only that these non-room day passes are available. Probably best to reserve, or at least contact the hotel prior to leaving.
Froufie Posted June 14, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 14, 2015 We were told no reservations in advance for the day pass - just show up and get them at the front desk.

ladylyn915 Posted June 18, 2015 #5 Share Posted June 18, 2015 Anyone have an email address for the Marriott to ask questions regarding the day pass? Here is the response I received from Marriott. There is a phone # listed. "Thank you for contacting Marriott. We appreciate the opportunity to provide you with information. We were able to locate the following information: We contacted the hotel on your behalf and spoke with the front desk. The front desk states that you will need to call them directly, about two weeks prior to the requested date, to check for availability and cost. For your convenience, we have listed their contact information below: St. Kitts Marriott Resort and The Royal Beach Casino Phone: +1 869 466 1200 Fax: +1 869 466 1201 If you need additional assistance, please feel free to reply to this email or contact a Customer Care Associate by phone at 800-721-7033 (toll-free in the United States and Canada). We are available to help you 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Thank you for choosing Marriott. Regards, Monique Andrews Marriott Customer Care" Hope this information is helpful I did not want to call St. Kitts from home so we have decided to do Caramabola. Although, for anyone that does not know - The restaurant is closed for the whole month of September for vacation. There will be lounges and umbrella rentals and restroom facilities as well as a beverage bar - but no food

skiiergirl Posted June 18, 2015 #7 Share Posted June 18, 2015 I did not want to call St. Kitts from home so we have decided to do Caramabola. Although, for anyone that does not know - The restaurant is closed for the whole month of September for vacation. There will be lounges and umbrella rentals and restroom facilities as well as a beverage bar - but no food Have you been to Carambola previously? The restroom facilities are really nice but the bar/restaurant were the best part when we were there in April. I would not go there with the restaurant being closed. The reason being...the beach has deteriorated since our previous visit. It has "washed away" (or whatever) where now it is a "steep" entrance into the water. The sand was covered in seaweed and cigarette butts. This was in April however so maybe they have cleaned it up since then. We had friends that did the Marriott the same day we did Carambola and they came back just raving about it and posted great things about it in their CC diary. I'll see if I can copy that part of her review over here. Previously we loved Carambola (and hope to return in the future if we hear it has been cleaned up) but for our next visit we are attempting to do the Marriott instead. Not sure who you emailed - but here is the direct email to st kitts marriott - where I was able to get info on the day pass - was never told I had to call ahead??? but of course it is based on availability on the day you visit: mhrs.skbrb.reservation.mgr@marriotthotels.com Thanks so much for the email address. skiiergirl Posted June 18, 2015 #8 Share Posted June 18, 2015 This is what Max's Mom posted in her diary regarding her April visit this year. They have made wonderful improvements to the cabanas and the beach area. When we were here in December' date=' there were bulldozers all over the beach, digging everything up. Looks great now. Something new all over the property.......egrets!

Froufie Posted November 12, 2015 #13 Share Posted November 12, 2015 It was not that far, maybe 15 minute ride? There was five of us and it was $3 pp each way.
Erin Dreamer Posted November 14, 2015 #14 Share Posted November 14, 2015 I can share our experience we had last January (2015). We made a reservation ahead of time and arrived mid-morning via taxi from the cruise port. We were told we could not stay as all of the chairs (with tables and umbrellas) had been taken. (For a large resort there really didn't seem to be all that many there). We were told that guests who were staying at the hotel had preference as far as getting chairs and umbrellas. It would seem that hotel guests must come out early to reserve their chairs/tables/umbrellas. We were also told that January was their busiest month so it was not unusual that there was no room for people who were not hotel guests. I don't know if you paid for a room if that would make a difference or not. Perhaps it would depend on whether or not there were any chairs available when you arrived. I should add that the person at the front desk who spoke with us was rather curt, perhaps because we were not hotel guests. I just wish we had known the circumstances before we planned to have a day at the Marriott. I thought I had asked all of the right questions, but I obviously had not. I can see them being too busy in Jan to accept outside guests due to it being high season. However, if you had a reservation they should have honored it! Did you present the written confirmation at the desk? Every time we have tried to reserve they always reply "no reservation needed...just stop by". So I always take a copy of that reply. However, we are never there during high season so I am sure that makes a big difference!

We did check outside and all of the chairs/tables/umbrellas WERE taken. I should have had the situation explained to me when I made the reservation. In the future, if we want to get a day pass, I would know enough to ask if there is a chance there would not be enough chairs for us to use. I could also ask if we could use the beach without chairs. We were not given that option at the Marriott. On another island we had reserved a day pass for a Hilton hotel and resort. There WAS room at that resort so we enjoyed a relaxing day and a nice lunch at their outdoor café.
