funlovin'cruiser Posted November 14, 2008 Author #6 Share Posted November 14, 2008 Sorry, but for a lot of positions, even HAL doesn't know just yet! That would be great if employees had planning that far out. They have a prelim Capt and hotman list, but I doubt that it will be the same.

funlovin'cruiser Posted November 14, 2008 Author #8 Share Posted November 14, 2008 Heehee. Again, nothing doing - even if, I know that others have been asked to stop posting for that far in advance by the cruise line. I am sure that whomever is there will be awesome. funlovin'cruiser Posted November 14, 2008 Author #12 Share Posted November 14, 2008 Is this list just for Christmas?? What about Thanksgiving?? It's pretty much the same, there are a few changes (see below for changes in respect to the cruises that fall over Thanksgiving). HAL puts its best staff on the x-mas/new years cruises and doesn't worry about Thanksgiving as much. Don't get me wrong, it's still a great time to cruise. Whenever we sailed with Captain Maurik -- several times -- and whenever he talked to us -- and whenever he was on the PA system -- he always referred to himself as PJ Maurik. He is one of our favorite Captains -- have sailed several times with him.

How can I forget them, born in Nijmegen, the Netherlands and especially "Jump" As long as it's Van Halen of David Lee Roth era as opposed to Sammy Hagar era, it's all good...
funlovin'cruiser Posted November 15, 2008 Author #25 Share Posted November 15, 2008 Yes I am aware that it is Captain Peter J van Maurik. Whenever we sailed with Captain Maurik -- several times -- and whenever he talked to us -- and whenever he was on the PA system -- he always referred to himself as PJ Maurik. He is one of our favorite Captains -- have sailed several times with him. I have WORKED several times with Captain PJ and in all of his announcements he has never ONCE dropped the van in front of van Maurik. I am not sure what you are remembering, but he encourages people to call him Captain PJ and when on the loudspeaker, only says, "This is your Captain speaking." Dropping the van would be like calling someone Mr. Ith instead of Mr. Smith. Having spent over 6 months combines with PJ in the past, I am sorry, but this is incorrect.
