what is needed to board ship?

we are going on cruise in Feb on the Carnival Destiny. What exactly is needed to board??..is it just.. Id, Passport, Funpass?...what about boarding pass??...will they mail?...or do we need to print?..or is this the same thing as the Fun Pass??...any help is appreciated. new to this thing...THANKS!!!

If you are a US citizen taking a closed loop cruise, which starts and ends in the same US port and only goes to ports in the Caribbean, Mexico, Canada and Central America, you need a passport or an origianal copy of your birth certificate and a government issued photo ID.

I personally would recommend you go ahead and get a passport if you have time.
