Help! What do we do on a rainy day in Ft Lauderdale?

We leave tomorrow at 7:30am for Ft. Lauderdale. We're spending the night at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort and sailing away on Summit on Sunday afternoon. Weather.com says it will be raining both days! What in the world are we going to do with ourselves?

hi:)...just a few suggestions........you could go to a Mall, take in a movie, or if you are football fans, find a good local sportsbar and watch the NFL PLAYOFFS:D

We're in the same boat, both literally and figuratively. Grab an umbrella and walk Las Olas,or one of the Malls. They also have those giant indoor flea markets, if you've got a car. Harbor Beach is a great resort. Really a shame you won't be able to enjoy it. hope you didn't pay too much. Are you registered for the Cruise Critic party?

First of all don't believe everything the weather channel says.It usually doesn't rain all day anyway. You can come to my house and help me with my laundry, its only a few minutes up 595.Just kidding. The water taxi can take you to a lot of nice places along the water front, resturants, museums, parks etc.The temperature will probably still be warm for you so go and enjoy.

Last Feb. we came in ahead of time to go on a cruise and it was raining cats and dogs and I mean cats and dogs so we ordered lunch, room service, had a view of the harbor where the ship was and enjoyed our lunch while watching it rain. Then we took a nap. Believe it or not it was very peaceful.

Hey Thanks everybody.

Those are some great and creative ideas.

Vicar and Duck, DH likes your ideas best, ;) but he thinks Lois' suggestion re the playoffs is pretty great too.

Babette and Linda, does the Ft Lauderdale Museum of art have a good collection? Any idea what it's known for. I guess I could check it out myself online. And Babette, thanks for the link.

Bongiorno, I didn't think there WAS a cruise critic party since it's only a 6 day cruise. Did you register for one? Could you let us know when it is? We're in cabin 7146. I suppose we could just show up and crash the party! We've stayed at the Harbor Beach before so we know what we're missing. Luckily we got a one night government employee rate of $135 so we're not out much.

Packing's almost done.

Sally, Hope your CD is better than we had on Galaxy in October. Do the spa thing at Harbor Beach. Take a taxi to my favorite Key West type dive bar not too far away.

It's Ernie's Barbeque at 1843 S. Federal Hwy just south of 17th St. Causeway. Great Conch chowder to warm you up, and thick slices of Bimini bread.

Have fun.
