Digital Alarm Clocks in Cabins?

I remember that I had the same question a while back and Pam from CA told me about a travel clock from LL Bean that could be bought on mail order. Which is good for me being in Australia.

I bought one and it is perfect. Best travel clock I have seen. If you want to have a look -

I read that there's enough variation in the ship's electrical system that electrical clocks don't run accurately. I think you're better off with a battery powered travel alarm.

Read the very last post in:

$6.99 in Walmart. Battery alarm works perfectly and there's a button to push that illuminates the time for those who have that need in the middle of the night.

The phones show digital time but are hard to read when you are laying in bed. We travel with our own which is becoming a bit tired so we have just replaced it with the one from LL Bean...but haven't really given it a workout yet. By the way we got the red one thinking that it would be hard to leave behind.:)

I got the red one too. I just ordered another one for my hubby to take one his interstate trips and the red ones are on backorder until 7 february 2010.

This backorder thing seems to be the flavour of the month....I am waiting for 2 pairs of golf shoes that are on backorder and 3 replacement tumblers from Tervis....doesn't anybody keep inventory any more or do we all have to wait for the next container ship from China?

I ordered the LL Bean alarm clock in green because the red was out of stock until Feb 7 and by then I will be on the cruise. It came a couple of days ago. I really like it. One feature that I particularly like is the ability to move the time or alarm set backwards or forwards. No more going all the way around the clock to move the alarm 15 minutes earlier.

I once took a digital timer coffee maker with me, notice the ONCE word. I set the time and it was making coffee at 3:00 AM instead of at 7:00 AM as it was set for. So, the digital clocks do not run as they would at home.
