Car rental at miami airport drop off at port

Looking to fly in the day before our cruise and rent a car at the Miami airport and wondering if we could drop off the car at the port of Miami.

We rented from Avis and dropped off at their downtown Miami location. It was a couple miles from the POM. No shuttle, cab was around $10.

There are no car rental companies inside the Port of Miami; you cannot leave a car there. As stated, you'll have to drop it at a nearby office and get their shuttle (if they offer one) or take a cab over to the pier.

Besides Avis, Hertz and Enterprise also have downtown Miami locations. Good luck!:)

The Avis location downtown is fairly close to Bayside, walking distance if you are healthy and certainly a short cab ride. What hotel?

Alamo/National have an off-site rental center that they shuttle to near MIA. You can rent there, return there and then take their free shuttle to the POM. Works in reverse when you finish your cruise.
