Ray, I hadn't seen that yet for our 9/7 sailing. Perhaps I need to check with our friend and see if she knows anything.

We got bumped last February trying to make the same trip because the trip was cancelled. I hope they let us know soon. If anybody hears anything, please post it as soon as possible.

I'm sure we all check this sight daily.

Hiya Flourtown..I read on another thread that you're booked on the Infinity 4/17/05 sailing. Come on over and join our sailing thread at: Infinity 4/17/05 Transcanal Thread.

You can keep up with the daily happenings of this "red flagged" business along with the rest of us. You'll also get to meet an already pretty cool group of folks that you'll be sailing with (we hope!). icon_cool.gif

Hope that you'll come join us!

Our TA booked us today on the May 16th twelve day to Alaska. There are four of us, and we were lucky enough to get the highly sought 6135 and 6136 cabins. According to our TA, these are concierege class cabins. I'm sorry for those of you who had your plans disrupted, and I want to thank you for the thread or I won't have known about this itinerary.

Oh,you've got a nice big balcony, too. icon_biggrin.gif My email address is in my profile as our website address (which we don't have one of). I am so excited about this already, and it's more than a year away. I love the planning part, so I have lots of time to obsess. We do have a cruise scheduled in the meantime. We are trying HAL for the first time this summer, going to Canada/New England out of Boston.

Hi all,

We were scheduled for the Hawaii to Vancouver cruise on May 25th 2005 aboard Infinity. Apparently this is not to be.

Has anybody seen anything official about this schedule change because our TA has not been able to get some straight answers from Celebrity. It appears that some people (on this thread even) have now obtained reservations on Infinity for an Alaska cruise for the same period as our Hawaii cruise.

If this is true, why is Celebrity keeping it undercover? I am not very happy about the switch but I'll recover. However I would have appreciated some kind of official announcement from them.

I'm supposed to be on the same cruise as MaBell and Otima and believe me, I am majorly bummed about this change! Not that I wouldn't mind sailing to Alaska, after all it's cheaper, easier air fare and and an extra night, but it's this uncertainty I dislike.

I called Celebrity earlier tonight. The guy I spoke to said that they might not know until as late as July!!!!! He did see that all of the cruises you were supposed to be on were marked as "redeployment" So far, our CS is still very open on the 5/28/05 cruise and I asked him to have it noted in our record that we want that same suite for the 5/28/05 sailing.

Our major glitch is that we were going to surprise our friends on this cruise!!!!! And they have no idea yet about this change!!!!! I'm going to talk to them tomorrow and break it to them gently about this change. I know that they will be extremely upset since they were looking forward to going to Hawaii! Of course, I'm going to say I saw it here on Cruise Critic!

I'm going to be calling Celebrity once a week until either they make up their minds or our friends decide to cancel their cruise.

Hi Anita and Otima,

I spoke to my travel agent today and she was told that it's possible another ship may sail our cruise. None of the other ships are scheduled for May 95 yet. Our cabins are still blocked so they aren't selling the cabins we had reserved. It's possible Summit could sail this itinerary. It may take until June before we find out for sure. You can always book another and cancel before final payment if you don't want to wait, but don't give up completely yet.

Just a thought, I think I read somewhere that Summit was due for a dry-dock around May next year.

That would make sense if the switched the Infinity's Hawaii cruises, the way the did with Millenniun and Infinity in early April, after the propulsion problems with Infinity.

Hope you guys get some satisfaction from Celebrity and they don't leave you hanging too long!

I decided to make another call to Celebrity in regard to my Hawaii 05/15/2005 sailing on the Infinity. I was informed that it was sailing to Hawaii on the 15th and also sailing to Alaska on the 16th. Ha! Ha! Really not funny at all. They connected me with customer service and informed me my travel agent would be the first to know. I informed them my travel agent was not the first to know about this change and that is why I was calling. They did say there is a chance that they may still be sailing but on another ship. I will keep my fingers crossed and still dream of my FV aft room....whatever ship it is....in Hawaii.

I called Celebrity today and spoke to Customer Service icon_eek.gif They said that the May 1st 2005 Panama 14 day cruise is Red Flagged icon_mad.gif and it could be because of an inquiry for a charter. A charter? icon_confused.gif So there are a lot of different stories going on but nothing firm. So for those of us booked on these trips and affected by the red flagging, it is a wait and see what happens or keep em hanging theory. I sure hope they can make up their minds soon. icon_rolleyes.gif

My TA phoned me today to say that she also contacted Celebrity (did not mention which service) and was told not to call again...they would contact her when a decision is made , in our case the Infinity Hawaii to Vancouver cruise on May 25th 2005. Well now, things are heating up, so I imagine the pressure is getting to them.

I just want to know if I'm going to Hawaii on those dates because Alaska is not on my priority list. Our question therefore remains.: "what's up?"

Time wll tell...

I was so looking forward to that Hawaii cruise next year. The itinerary and dates were perfect for our group. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I do think the pressure is on Celebrity. When I made my call the other day, I was told not to call anymore and that my travel agent would be the first one to be informed of any changes. I let them know that I would still be calling them since I was the one paying for this cruise and not my travel agent. I think the more that people contact them, will help pressure them to make their final decision.

It certainly does sounds like the pressure is on! I have no choice but to call Celebrity since we booked directly through the Captain's Club.I'm making sure I keep an ear here to see if people hear anything before I do. We'll take either cruise. I'm just hoping that our friends will also feel the same way!

We are also booked on the 5/1 transcanal out of FLL on Infinity. Booked a corner FV & really looking forward to it. I think there is some basis to expect Celebrity to operate a transcanal cruise at that time on Summit and maybe Infinity based on their current schedule gaps:

Summit is not currently showing up between 4/22 when it ends a cruise in Ft. Lauderdale until 5/20 when scheduled to depart Vancouver.

Infinity is scheduled to end a Hawaii cruise in Ensenada on 4/17 and next schedule shows it out of San Francisco on 5/16.

Obviously, the Summit *must* get to the west coast so a transcanal is likely. A big question is on the Infinity which *could* keep the currently scheduled 4/17 east bound and 5/1 westbound transcanal sailings *or* stay in the west for another round of Hawaii cruises.

Our TA was also not able to get any real info out of Celebrity. Guess we just keep waiting and speculating.

Lynn, welcome aboard! Well it seems from the other posts that Celebrity is feeling "the heat" so to all of you who have been on this thread. Let's keep it up and I am certain they will be finishing the schedule a little sooner. I only hope it is sooner than later. I leave in 4 weeks on RCCL for an Alaska trip and if Celebrity has not come up with a new schedule by then I may have to change over to them and book then. But those of us who love Celebrity then that maybe hard to do!

Well...I spoke to the Captain's Club again today...4th different person, 4th different story. Today it was oh...your Infinity 4/17/05 sailing is "sold out"...I said..no..because there were plenty of cabins before it disappeared from the Celebrity website. "Are you sure?"...yes...I said...then of course...please hold...I just laughed to myself.

Once she came back, we had our usual it's red flagged for redeployment conversation, and then she told me to call back in a couple of days or have my TA check again.

There was no "Don't call us again", and I did tell her that some of the folks on Cruise Critic had been told that...she said that if someone said that you should get their name and ask for their supervisor. But folks...if you're members of Captain's Club, don't even bother calling regular Celebrity Customer service. Call the Captain's Club...although they have no more info than anyone else (or sometimes less)...at least they're pleasant.

They know this is all over Cruise Critic, but I guess they don't care about their Customer Service folks having to handle our calls.

Funny...I love Celebrity once I get on board...but sometimes it's almost worse than having to buy a car from them when we're on land. Very Frustrating...

Keep those calls comin!!!!

Michele

Hi from the 18 May 2004 Infinity group!

Sorry to hear you are still getting thje "Cold Shoulder" from Celebrity.

Just a thought, why don't you start a poll on Hawaii v Alaska cruises in the month of May.

Think that might attract a better response from Celebrity! I would like to bet it would come down heavily on the side of Hawaii in May.

Frank & I, Michelle & Mike are in the process of transferring to the May 16 Alaska cruise. We didn't like the changes on the Panama Canal cruise but loved the new Alaska cruise. Looking forward to seeing you again.

Sorry -- stupid question -- I have never had a Celebrity cruise "red flagged" before (and hope I never do). How do you find out if it is red flagged???? I have a Summit cruise in March next year and want to keep track of it.

I'm really sorry to hear about all of these changes and I hope it works out for all of you.

What would attract a better response from Celebrity? A poll here? Don't count on it.

You can tell if your cruise is 'red flagged' if you can't find the cruise on Celebrity's website. Sometimes, it will only mean that the cruise is fully booked. Example- Infinity 12/05/04 Hawaii. However, it can also mean that they are thinking of making changes on the cruise. It could be cancelled. There could be changes in the itinerary. Possibly, the ship may need repairs. Sometimes you will get a straight answer from Customer Service. Don't count on it. They are still saying that the 4/17/05 Infinity sailing is fully booked. They have changed the itinerary (which can only be found in Shore Excursions)but haven't released it back on their website. They could still change it entirely. I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to turn it into 2 RT's to Hawaii before heading to Alaska.

As long as you can find you cruise on the website, you will know everything is probably OK.

The changes they made on the PC cruise we were booked on were unsettling. We didn't want to sail from Ensenada. We were looking forward to Aruba which was cancelled. They had inserted Grand Cayman which we have visited too often. Decided we liked the idea of Alaska instead.
