I am a 42 yo mother of two teenagers and I LOVE THE BACKSTREET BOYS!! I have also accompanied my daughter to two Jonas Brothers concerts and we attended the Disney World Christmas Day Parade taping at Disney World last December. I would love to know about the cruise (pricing, where to, availablity, etc.) sorry I missed it!

I should have added that not to long ago there was a thread about " The Richard Simmons Cruise" lots of folks got a bashing for wanting to be a part of that, SO, just do what you enjoy and don't worry about what other people will think. What's that saying? Different strokes for different folks. Go have a great time!!

I'm still waiting for the Buffett cruise. I want to be a part of that.

Ooh...I would love that too!

apparently the op cares, otherwise they wouldn't be asking. How incredibly rude and condescending.

If i wanted to be a total jerk -- much like you -- i would mock your liking of the jonas brothers, but i'm assuming you're either a preteen girl who hasn't the sense to know what a rude creature you're being, or a middle-aged woman obsessed with a bunch of teenage boys, which is terminally creepy.

lmao

To the OP...

I checked out the site for the BSB cruise and this is on the Destiny. (That is the same ship and itinerary that I went on for the Rick Springfield cruise in 2008 - 2009 was just to Cozumel). In that case, the BSB would more than likely be staying in the suites on Deck 7. Hope it works out for you! Does Rose Tours have any people waiting for room mate matches? Maybe that's a possibility, too.

LOL you go girll. AJ is awesome but Nick is my favorite.. and thank you all for sticking up for me regarding the rude Jonas Brothers comment. I dont care for the Jonas Brothers but I would never say something that rude especially if someone is just asking a question trying to get information. I really appreciate all your feedback. I am definitely staying in an inside cabin.. so either on the empress deck across from the Grand Suites or on the Lido deck. Which one do you all recommend? Thanks again

I met Nick two weeks ago at Hard Rock Hotel in Orlando. He is very, very nice..and very, very nice looking. I didn't know who he was until a valet told me later that Nick was poolside. I knew he looked " like somebody", and I knew the BSB were playing at Hard Rock Cafe but I never connected the dots and figured out that they would be staying at " my hotel"

I could have met Joan Rivers too...but no thank you.

I don't have a particular affinity for any of the bands mentioned, but reading about these fan cruises they sound AWESOME, particularly the full charters! I can just imagine combining my favorite activity (cruising) with my favorite music... if I climbed aboard a ship and it was all U2 all the time, I would think I'd died and gone to heaven.

Enjoy, fan cruisers! It may be expensive, but WOW what memories!

Oh please, I hope this is NOT happening the week I'm going...

That would definately suck for everyone else on board. I still can't believe they didn't charter the whole thing. If NKOTB can sell out in a day I would have thought BSB could have too.

Perhaps the promoter didn't have the up-front money ...

  • 3 weeks later...

I'll be on this cruise. After months of being on the waitlist I finally got a call saying a spot opened up. I would love to know how many people are actually a part of this group. I'm not a NKOTB fan but the pics made the cruise look a lot of fun! I wish BSB had the whole ship!

I owe you ladies all an apology.

At first I was going to chastise you cougars for your lascivious attitude torward these young rock stars.

Then I thought about how great having Katy Perry on a cruise would be . Not a cruise with her in concert. Or a charter cruise for her fans.

I mean literally taking her on a cruise a having her :)

These "young rockstars" are all in their 30s, most of the New Kids are in their 40s. Much older than me!

I am so glad you made it on. I hope you come back and share. I'd like to hear how BSB did it without having full access to the whole ship for everything to be BSB. Hopefully they will be out as much as the New Kids were (partying on the lido until 4 or 5 am everynight). These were the best 2 cruises I have ever taken. I'm sure you'll have a great time.

We booked a cruise on a different line and didn't find out till 2 weeks before it was a soap opera cruise. I guess it could of been worse but still would've liked to know about it before we cruised. They actually kicked everyone out of one of the lounges because they were having a special event. And always lines of ladies and a couple men all over the boat.So it could happen. And to the Op we saw the stars allover the boat and main dining room and they were nice to people that just walked up to them and asked for autographs.Wish I watched soap operas might of known somw names and got a little more for my cash

Hey Katelyn! I got a call last week too after being on the waitlist. I am so excited. I wish they had the whole ship too, but at least it will be a little more personal with half the ship. We are going to have a blast! Where are you coming from? I actually live in Ft. Lauderdale, FL so I don't have to travel at all! :)

We got to the terminal early, and watched as New Kids were led on to the ship. That was a nice way to start the day. Once they boarded, they started calling the zones. We were on about 15 minutes after NKOTB got on. As you enter the ship, they were playing New Kids current music. The atrium was decorated with banners hanging from the ceiling. There was also a almost life size cardboard cut out of them to take your picture with if you wanted to. Last year people from E were there interviewing guests as they boarded.

We went right up to the buffet and that is where all but Joey was. Jordan and Danny came and talked to my area of tables because there were not that many people there yet. When they left by going outside and up the stairs to skip walking through the dining area. I went to get Mongolian. When I did this Jordan was coming down the stairs to the Lido (Or libido deck as they refer to it). Everyone ran after him. Since I knew the rest of the guys had to be close behind him I went up the stairs. Donnie was walking with a bodyguard. He stopped and gave me a hug. Then Danny walked by and said "hi". I don't know what happened to Jon.

Last year they all showed up at our muster drill which was awesome. After the muster drill they came out for the sailaway party. They went where the band usually plays. They danced, sang to their songs, took pictures, signed autographs, etc.. It lasted about 1 1/2 hours.

They split us up into 2 groups A for early diners, B for late. Everyone did all the activities, just at different times.( Except for the lido deck activities, that was for everyone)

The first night we had a game show (sort of like Jeopardy). Last year we played Family Fued. All were NKOTB questions. That evening there was a deck party Casino Royal. They came out in tuxes. They hung out on the level right above the lido deck. They were able to look down at us. I think the owners suit was behind them. They sang, danced and mingled. They brought their own dj. They mixed it up with New Kids song, current club music, and some oldies. They also came out and sang some of their solo songs since 3 of them had solo careers. There was a vip section upstairs. They partied from about midnight until 4 or 5 am everynight. There was about an hour of so of open bar. They really pushed the drinks on you too.

The second day we were at Half Moon Cay. They came up in a speed boat. They spent about 3 hours on the stage just entertaining us again. Donnie stood for about a half hour and just took pictures. They had a limbo contest. Joe and Jon went in the ocean. They had a limbo contest.I even swam with Joe for a couple of seconds with him holding my hand.

That night was our concert. It was a full length concert. Last year the security wasn't as tight and I was able to sneak into the other concert. It was also pajama night and a party on the lido. All of the guys were out on the lido, but they would leave and come back. Joe was singing in the piano bar. Last year you could always find at least one of them in the casino, this year they weren't there as much.

The last day was a sea day. Everyone was able to take their picture with the whole group. Donnie did a special "back rub" and Danny did a health/fitness question and answer. At midnight there was a poker tournament with Donnie. You played during the day to earn a spot at his table. The last night on the lido was a white party.

I talked to several staff members who said it was the best cruise ever. Last year the bar staff even learned the dance moves to Step By Step and danced for us.

Last year they did a NKOTB question and answer and it was a lot of fun. I don't know why they got rid of it this year.

The New Kids were everywhere. You would see them in the casino, at the coffee shop, in the hot tub, at the buffet, walking the stairs. I would say that at least 80% of the time I left my room, I would run into at least one of them. The New Kids would also knock on doors and spend time with fans, but I didn't get that lucky.

You are in for a fantastic time. I hope you write a review. I would like to see how they do it without having the entire ship. You can youtube the NKOTB cruise to get a feel for what it was like. There are a lot of videos out there. I am just waiting for them to make the official announcement for next years cruise.
