Carnival Magic!!! Cheers and tears....

There's something coming to mind about a gift horse and his oral oriface ...

So, you guys scream and moan for a new ship, and then the itineraries aren't good enough. And then you complain about losing ships? Seriously? At least you have ships full time and your itineraries aren't the Bahamas or Canada.

I mean this with as much kindness as possible, but y'all are acting like spoiled children.

I really don't understand why Carnival is getting rid of Belize, Roatan, and Cozumel out of NOLA???

If they want the Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica route out of NOLA, they should do 1 week of Eastern, 1 week of Belize, and 2 weeks of Cozumel, and then repeat.

WOW...after all the hoopla and leaving everyone hanging on waiting, this is the best that Carnival could do....well I had looked forward to sailing out of Galveston sometime in the future and was really hoping the Magic was going to be doing the 7 day Western itinerary that Triumph does now in NOLA...but now it looks like adios to ever sailing out of Galveston and off to NOLA so I can go somewhere instead of nasty Jamaica.....and the prices for the same dang itineraries is simply uncalled for ...Way to go Carnival...NOT!!!!

Tootsie, it looks like Conquest and Ecstasy are keeping their itineraries, just sailing out of NO instead of Galveston. I really don't understand why Carnival is running the same itineraries for the 4 ships in question...Magic, Triumph, Conquest, & Ecstasy. I agree, it's a major disappointment for me, especially when you look at pricing.

OOPs..you are right Cindy..I didn't even go look at the itiniraries for Conquest and Ecstsy...kind of just thought Conquest would keep doing the same as Triumph does on the Western...darn it...it is getting more dissappointing by the minute...LOL..thanks for heads up....:D

There are 3 ships almost doing the same 4 and 5 day cruises. The Triumph out of Galveston, Ecstasy out of NOLA, and Elation out of Mobile.

Imma gonna go out on a limb and say that they keep running the same itineraries because those itineraries keep selling out.

Jesus, people. It's not your personal yacht. You don't get to decide where the ship goes. Book it or don't. If you're not happy, find a ship (and a line) that goes where you want it to.

I was gonna say that too LC, but didn't want to get a post deleted lest it not be "related" to the original topic. Thank you SOOOOOO much for saying what I was too chicken to :D

I mean, good grief people. You get a NEW ship and the Triumph...but oh wait, you also want the Ecstasy and itineraries to "much better ports". I agree with LC here, better be careful what you wish for, sometimes, the end result is MUCH worse than what you had to begin with.

I truly hope that Carnival can keep the Magic loaded up at those prices (everything MUST be bigger in Texas, including salaries, apparently!!) because if not, you know Carnival will pull her. Better take out that second mortgage and plan your trip now!!!!! :D

I was so excited to hear this news, we love being able to drive down and sail out of Galveson. But my excitement fizzled when i saw they are doing the same old iteraries....

Please Carnival... can't you go to Belize or Roatan...you go there from Miami?

I had the exact same feeling as I looked through some of the itineraries for the new ships and didn't see anything new, I got a little disappointed like others.

I would have liked to see some different ports and even some longer itineraries come with the new ships. And you never know, maybe they will do that in the future(I haven't looked at how far they have the itineraries published for, yet).

I gotta ask, coming from landlocked Kentucky, do you think these folks who have easy access to a cruise ship and don't have to deal with flying are acting a bit entitled?

Definitely a be careful what you wish for moment. Back to Tampa and Ft Lauderdale for our next cruises. I'm certain that Carnival believes they can keep selling these same old itineraries or they wouldn't be moving such a large ship into Galveston.

Talk about sour grapes. Galveston if you not happy with the scheduled cruises for the Magic I am sure that New Orleans would still be very happy to home port her.:D

Very true...although having almost 4k passengers sounds much better suited for the country of Texas.

This is what i got from a news clipping:

Carnival Conquest will reposition to New Orleans for year-round seven-day Caribbean cruises beginning Nov. 13, 2011. The ship will offer three different week-long Caribbean options from New Orleans:

- a new western Caribbean program featuring Montego Bay, Grand Cayman and Cozumel,

- an eastern Caribbean itinerary to Key West, Freeport and Nassau,

- and exotic western Caribbean cruises to Belize, Roatan and Cozumel.

Is this correct? if yes, then i like it.

THANK YOU!!!! I'd do the itineraries regardless....I don't sail for the ports anyway, they are second to the R&R of being on the water. Maybe we could picket headquarters and show them these posts and ask if they REALLY want to home base a ship where there are a bunch of people SOOOOOO ungrateful to have her?????

Wasn't there a VERY similar story posted here a few days ago from some people in Charleston equally ungrateful for the Fantasy's arrival???????? Bring 'em all to Mobile and NOLA. We'll show you GRATITUDE!!!!!!!!!

For some the glass is always half empty...be grateful for what you have...if not don't sail and wait for it to be moved to Florida.

I didn't see the Exotic Western on the Carnival website when I looked this morning.

I agree with the whole itineraries statements. Nice we have a new ship but I'd like to see them a least mix it up a little. Let's hope they aren't doing that silly non smoking casino thing on Magic like they do on the Dream.

A non-smoking casino? Seriously?

I hadn't heard that about Dream!

How's that workin' for 'em, I wonder?
