Omg, Awesome! Did you guys hear the singing from the atrium all night long too? I hope not! It was horrible!

No, our cabin was just far enough back that we didn't get it, but my sister did in cabin 7274. You could hear it as you got off the elevator, but after we made the turn to our cabin we couldn't hear it anymore.:D

Lucky!!!! The latin band was the worst! They performed well, it's just we didn't want to hear it at 1 or 2 am! haha.

Excellent job on the review and the pics were incredible! We just got off the Freedom this past Sunday with the Western Carribbean itinerary (Cozumel, Costa Rica, and Panama) and we enjoyed our cruise also! And like you we had rain following us just the entire way! We still had fun though!

I have to agree that Eddie Capone had me crying...he's extremely funny! :D

Oh yeah, I participated in the Hip Hop dance class and my DW thoroughly enjoyed laughing at me!

The Freedom is a beautiful ship but a little confusing in the layout!

I look forward to your review of the Triumph...that was the very first ship we every cruised on! Enjoy! :)

Day 4 continued

After shopping, we were brought back to the ship for an hour to drop off our things and change. So, we went to the lido deck for lunch (which was Caribbean).

We went back out to the taxi (where the driver was late once again), and were driven to Magen's Bay.

Now, I have been to Magen's Bay before on the Disney Cruise I took several years ago and it has changed greatly!

The water used to be so pretty and blue, and now it's kind of murky blue. The beach has turned into an overcrowded and dirty area. Within minutes of being there, we were ready to leave.

up next: pictures of Magen's Bay

Just a thought....Looking at your photos of Magen's Bay, the sky seems a bit overcast. We went to Magen's Bay in '05 and sky conditions were similar, making the water seem kind of murky looking as you described. However, recently, I have seen pictures of Magen's under crystal clear skies and full sunshine, and the water looked pretty and blue as you mention.

I live in South Florida and have noticed that the appearance of the ocean changes under overcast or even partially overcast skies.

I would also add that, depending on the currents on a given day, sediment and other variables can contribute to the "cloudiness" of the water. I grew up at the southern New Jersey shore, which has "murky, grey looking" water. But, occasionally (once every year or so), I'd walk down to the beach and the water was a flat calm and clear blue where I could see my feet if in waist deep water. My point is that the ocean is fluid and ever-changing at every locale.

Just an FYI. Eddie is a former Carnival Cruise Director, in fact he was the CD on our honeymoon cruise aboard the old Festivale back in 1989.

Day 1 Continued

For lunch the first day, I ate some chicken marsala, rosemary potatoes, the infamous potato salad, and a roll. Too many carbs, but I was on a cruise so who cares! :p

Here are some views of the Freedom restaurant:

After lunch, we decided to go around the ship and take some quick pictures before everything got too crowded. The first place I wanted to check out was the Serenity area.

I am not much of a sunbather, because as a redhead I get sunburnt so easily... so this area did not really appeal to me. However, it was nice that they had hammocks and the area overall was really nice.

Day 1 to be continued...

That potato salad is Sooooo good.

Thank you for a fabulous review. I hung on your every word and scrutinized every picture, especially the "food porn".

Have a wonderful time on Triumph, next week. We have a roll call for the October 15th cruise on this ship and one of our sailors, Jarand, asked the following questions on post #43.

If you have the time and would like to investigate, could you take a peek at his questions and post your reply when you get back? Here they are.

We can all benefit from your answers. Thanks again

Does anyone know:

~The front observation decks on 7 & 9 are both accessible to everyone, correct?

~There appear to be some obstructions or walls on the Deck 7 forward observation deck. Can you walk from starboard to port on it?

~Are the Deck 9 Lido front views significantly better than 7? Is the Lido front deck usually crowded?

~Any experience with just how loud the forward rooms can be on the Lido deck?
