Board Games...

Are there board games (scrabble, monopoly, trivial pursuit, clue, etc) available on the CB for passengers to use? If yes, is there a good assortment, and where are they located (library, lounge, etc?) and must they be used there, or can they be "borrowed" and taken to the cabin for use?

Hopefully, there won't be too many missing pieces!

Princess' jigsaw puzzles are notorious for missing pieces - and I suspect many board games will often have some missing pieces also.

We usually check out scrabble, and so far have not had any pieces missing. We also ask the pursers for a deck of cards, although someone posted that they are not free anymore - not sure if that is true or not.

I bought a small travel Scrabble set for us to take after our experience on the Sun Princess. All of the Scrabble games were checked out and people did not bother returning them after the first couple of days. Now we don't have to worry about that, plus we can play a game in the airport if we have a delay.

We packed our own board games (Rummikub and Mexican Train dominos) into separate ziplock plastic bags (and left the boxes at home) to prevent loss of pieces in transit, plus 2 sets of cards. Not bulky to pack in suitcase, and we could play what we wanted when we wanted to.

We always packed a travel backgammon set until we realized that on cruises we never got to use it! Even on sea days when the weather was miserable, we always found something to do without sitting down and playing.

Don't count on getting a board game when you are at sea. On the CB the no longer require you to check games out. We found a pictionary game missing a few cards and a couple of puzzles when we tried to get a game. Not a huge selection.
