Nieuw Amsterdam: Verandah stateroom size/ 4 adults

Is a verandah stateroom too small for four adults to share? I believe the stateroom is 5121. Any comments would be appreciated.

Yes! Why do it? You will be like peas in a pod. This is supposed to be a vacation. If you can swing it, strongly advise two rooms, particularly if you want to be friends at the end of the cruise. :D

You will also have just 1 bathroom.

Better book 2 cabins, maybe even 1 inside to make it less expensive?

4 adults in one cabin witth ne bathroom -- no way.

 

Much better to book 2 cabins.

We were in that level cabin on the Nieuw Amsterdam with three adults. It is tight. Realize that you cannot use the balcony when the sleeper is opened. It is doable if you are considerate and have a schedule. It can save a tremendous amount of money. If you do not plan on spending alot of time in your room, it could be worth it.

 

My parents and brother and sister in law will be sharing a room on the Oosterdam in January. It will be a challenge, but it is the only way for my brother's family to have a vacation.

On our very first cruise in 1994, we shared an ocean view room with our two middle schoolers. It was very tight! I would never consider doing a verandah room with 4 adults. There's no way 4 adults can get dressed at once with one bathroom and a tiny cabin. Buy 2 cabins even if you opt for 2 inside cabins. It'll make for a less stressful cruise. JMO

Thanks for all of your replies. I took your advice and decided against it! Turned out vacation time would have been a bit too tight anyways. Another cruise opportunity will come up...that I am sure of!
