Glad 'a good time was had by all ~:p

I haven't sailed with Chef Jes but looking forward to meeting him.

And yes, Sean is a gem ~ I received mail from Armand ~he's home and enjoying a much needed rest. (he may be transferring to one of the larger ships)

Captain Dag is enjoying what he described to me...his new toy!

Happy Trails and Sails

since I booked my first cruise with SB for next May,,but on the Sojourn,,,like the balconies...and hopefully bigger pool deck areas,etc....but,like Jim,,from FL...and like shaded areas most of time,,,

Am now waiting to hear if my Regent cruise for Nov.23 still on,,like Petlover,,,,booked on Voyager and now in drydock...but only a drive away ,,,so may try the SB leaving Nov 19,,,if still open,,,waiting to hear for sure....so sorry for those pax that lost their cruise....worse comes to worse will "rough it" here in FL>...haha....sorry all you "northerners"....:)

Thanks Jim ~

As I do not like the new Sky Bar glasses I always take my own plastic wine glass ~the old type. Mr. "Atlas" would have a hard time lifting one of the new wine glasses......must hold 1/2 bottle of vino.

Sean keeps my 'lit glass hidden and when I stroll out the door he has my special Chile red already poured in front of my perch! (needless to say I spoil him rotten:eek: in turn)

You do need to book at least a 14 dayer ~even better the 21 day voyage is perfect! (better rate as well)

Thanks for the nice photo ~

Hi Gannt, Jim and entourage; Alan (and Mary) reporting back from Devon UK. It was great meeting you and your parties last week - I'm staggered to see so much high quality prose about the cruise already; well done Jim.

A couple of extra names I'd like to credit are the Ubiquitous Zac who,for a novice, was astonishing. He seemed to be following me around the ship with a personal mission that my glass should not be empty. A shame he thinks he might only serve for a year or so! Also the wonderful Bell Captain, Dan, who kept our suite in Caviar and Champagne each evening and arranged delicious sandwiches for our journey home (which was fortuitous because BA just gave me a biscuit!).

Look forward to seeing you on the high seas again one day. AB

Thanks for all the postings Jim!

We had a wonderful time - even with you on board. No complaints. Zippo.

I found Seabourn Spirit food and service even better than the Legend last year....and that says lots. Nervous about the big ship next year, but several crew members said they were great....Fingers crossed.

Have to say that I think the food is better on SeaDream, much as I adore SBs Chef Jes.

Service, however, is equally matched between the two.

Jim, Lois, Carol...all;

Tom and I flew from Venice to Athens to board the Regent Voyager Sunday Oct. 3. Well...not as planned for sure as we're still in Athens on the ship but our cruise was cancelled due to broken pod. We just eat, drink and stay merry waiting to get off. Sunday was my birthday and we still had a fabulous fun party docked. Regent is making arrangements to fly every one home in same class of service as originally booked. In our case, we're redepositing our one way miles used through AA ff and flying home tomorrow in Biz class on Regent's nickel. Everone is VERY disappointed but trying to make the best of it touring Athens etc. We all need to be off the ship by tomorrow as the ship is leaving the dock and will be anchored (how long, no one knows?) before going to Genoa to get fixed. If they're not able to get everyone on flights by tomorrow, they're puting us up at nice Athens hotel. Everyone is of course getting free internet and phone usage to make arrangements, call home etc. Most are just letting Regent make the plans to get us home.

I feel bad for many who are more affected than we are. One gal was meeting her parents at our stop in Israel and getting married. Many were booked on B2B's or had post cruise plans. Oh well, ship happens and Regent is making everyone "whole" and trying their best to get everyone home safely. Some are going to do land trips, our friends are going to go to Singapore to see their son and then Regent is flying them home from Singapore.

Till then, we're making the very best of an unfortunate situation. Glad we had our Spirit cruise the week before...we're lucky as some had only arrived in Athens the day of boarding. What a bummer. There is a write up in yesterday's USA TODAY.

Cheers all!

Hey Marcie, you adorable thing!

So sorry to hear about your cruise being canceled.

Sure enjoyed meeting you & Tom.

Tell him that I appreciated him escorting me to the Captain's table.

Sounds like another wonderful day Jim!

Interesting comment about the blazer and tie. When we sailed SB a few years ago one of the things DJ's DH not like, in particular, was the more formal dress code (e.g. wearing a tie every evening). Sounds like things have changed (no flames please, just an observation).

Thanks for reporting in on the whereabouts of Cammiem:cool:

Enjoy your last full day!!

My whereabouts - LOL! :D

Once I realized Jim was able & willing to be our reporter, I sat back with a nice glass of bubbly & enjoyed life. Every. Single. Day. :D

Calling yourself Lazy is certainly appropriate.:D Actually, we like Chef Jes's efforts better. Go figure.

Hey Steve,

I'm on the Captain's right (in the ivory outfit).

That's my husband with his arm on my shoulder.

I'll let the rest of the troops identify themselves should they choose to do so.  :D

Thanks to all of you. I have been following this thread (and others) since we booked our trip for next year.

This is my/our first luxury/small ship cruise, and everything I have been reading is only making me more excited to go. How will I make it to May????

Will be traveling with mom, my sister, her husband, my other sister, and my friend of many years. Mom's 80th birthday gift to herself/us.

Keep the pictures coming cammiem. They are great!!

Hey Steve!

You will really love the Seabourn experience.

What makes it so special is the service onboard.

I'll be posting more pictures here later.

In the meantime, if you want access to more of my photos, just email me: lazyhomecook at gmail dot com.

Adding a few of our photos from this fun cruise too....we're home after our "cruise to Nowhere" on Oct. 3rd at the Athens dock for 3 nights until Regent could get us home. We still had lots of fun with good people making lemonade out of lemons.
