Taxis to Nachi Cocum

Can anyone tell me if taxis accept dollars? And what is the recent cost of taxis from pier to Nachi Cocum?

Actually, the price depends on which pier you leave from. Puerto Langosta in town will be the costliest, International pier the next most expensive and Puerto Maya the least expensive. The prices are posted on the board at the taxi stand at each pier. I know we paid more than $14.00 in August from Puerto Maya. I think it was more like $17.00 or $18.00 each way.

We were in Cozumel in Oct. on the Ecstasy and the fare was $15 for the ride to Nachi Cocum and the same back to the pier. Have a great cruise and a great time at Nachi Cocum.

Caribsun: Thanks for the cab fare post. I will keep that on file. I've been to Cozumel 4 times, and I am getting ready for the 5th. Since I've been sailing on different lines I've been at different piers and I can never remember the rates for each one.

I have reservations at Nachi in late January. Our ship docks at 7am so I have a couple hours to kill before Nachi opens.

 

Would it be possible to hire a taxi at port to take us to San Gervasio ruins before Nachi opens, wait for us while we tour that site then drop us off at Nachi???

 

Wondering how good of an idea this is....

It depends on how you want to kill it'.. it is easy to kill time in the shopping area ( if you want to shop), make your purchases..drop them back at the ship, and then be on your way to Nachi.

 

The cabs will probably take you just about anywhere.. the costs are well regulated, and it seemed at least to me that they were jumping over themselves to give you the best service at the best price.

Our ship docked at 7am but by the time we got breakfast, the all clear and finished looking around the port area Nachi was open and waiting for us.
