It looks like the new slogan is just simply X IS .............followed by various descriptions. It's a good slogan until they implement a new one. On January 24th, Dan Hanrahan, president and CEO of Celebrity Cruises, took questions and responded to feedback on a special forum on Cruise Critic. On February 1st, he announced (on this very thread, see OP) that Celebrity would "move away from the 'X the rules' ads." The subsequent posts on this thread are mostly all of us thanking him for listening to us and making the change. Follows along with other great ads in the past such as "Excede your expectations" in letting you know that Celebrity is above a regular cruise experience. The question, multiple choice, asked cruises why those chose to cruise Carnival or Celebrity. I think the results speak volumes: The overwhelming response by Carnival Cruisers: Cost The overwhelming response by Celebrity Cruisers: Service In addition in the 'other' category Celebrity had a very high percentage of participants discribing the existing smoking policy very favorably. While not a scientific poll and probably heavily tilted to existing passengers I still find it very interesting and hope that you can use some of these findings as you continue to advertise/promote your wonderful product.
