Could anyone advise me please

We want to book a cruise for 2012 which has just been realeasedbut are only being offered discounts of £50 from the advertised HAL price. Are there any benifits for waiting and bokking on board in July?

Thank you for your help

The only real advantage to booking on the ship is the reduced deposit. I'm not aware of any cruise discounts for early booking with the cruise consultant. In fact, for the most part HAL doesn't really have discounted fares for early booking no matter how or where you book.

When you book (or just place a deposit on an undetermined cruise) while on board you get an OBC. The amount varies depending on the length of the cruise and the cabin selected:

7-10 days Inside or Outside $25 pp, Veranda $35 pp, Suite $50 pp

11-36 days Inside or Outside $50 pp, Veranda $75 pp, Suite $100 pp

we have never gotten a discount by booking early with the ffc on board a ship

but we do like the shipboard credit that we get:

Shipboard Credit:

7 - 10 days:

Inside - $25 per person

Outside - $25 per person

Verandah (VA/A - VF/BC) - $35 per person

Suite (PS - S/SY) - $50 per person

11+ days:

Inside - $50 per person

Outside - $50 per person

Verandah (VA/A - VF/BC) - $75 per person

Suite (PS - S/SY) - $100 per person

Please Note:

Deposit of $100 per person -- good for 4 years -- no refund of deposit.

This offer applies to the first two passengers in stateroom only, and is not applicable to upper berth passengers. Passengers with single occupancy will receive a single person portion. Ship board credit may only be used on a single voyage and expires at the end of that voyage. This offer or any unused portion is not redeemable for cash and is available to new bookings only.

This offer is not combinable with the World Cruise, Grand Voyages or segments thereof.

We usually don't book a specific cruise while on board but we do buy future cruise credits at $100/pp/per cruise. That allows us to use the credits in lieu of a deposit for whatever cruise we want. Instead of having to deposit hundreds or thousands of dollars when we book the actual cruise later, we just use one $100 credit per person.
