is it any cheaper to purchase your next cruise while on a cruise

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure it is about cheap fares as much as it may be about getting a preferred deck or cabin for booking early (or new sailings). Usually (Princess) there is a minimum deposit required to book while on board which can be an advantage. Sometimes you can get onboard credits. We have also had to cancel and were able to transfer bookings at no additional charge.

I would talk to whomever the cruise line agent on your Carnival ship who does the bookings. I have never been on Carnival but they should be abe to explain the incentives for booking while on the ship.

Good Luck

I think you are asking about future cruises while on a cruise. Yes, most lines have some kind of future cruise booking program while on a current cruise. Typically, you make a $100/pp deposit on a future cruise. In return, they give you $50-150 in on board credit for the future cruise, depending upon the cabin booked. You can either book a specific cruise right then and there or leave it as an open booking, and choose the sailing later, within the next 4 years or so. If you change your mind, you can get a refund of your depost. Nothing to lose, really. If you have a favorite agent you use, or later on you find an agent offering special perks or a lower price, the booking can be transferred to them.
