ChristieDawn Posted July 15, 2011 #102 Share Posted July 15, 2011 OT... Christie, Are you from Wichita Falls too??.... My family the "Lunns" (Great Grandmother, maternal side) are there and in Olney/Wichita Falls too :). My paternal family is from Palo Pinto county... Graford area. Do they own Lunns Funeral Home? ChristieDawn Posted July 15, 2011 #103 Share Posted July 15, 2011 I've been thinking about going back to Sunset Beach on this trip.... All I need to do is purchase my 10-15 lbs of coffee beans before we leave this port. I normally jump ship early, and purchase our coffee beans in 5 pound bags then bring back on-board. After that is finished.... we are free to pursue other entertainment :D. Good Coffee? I LOVE coffee so I may have to purchase some too! You will have to tell me where to go though since I have never been there!:o

Their Jamaican Teasers are quite tasty and will definitely give you the "Irie Mon" attitude. As for the coffee, we plan on buying a few bags as well. We absolutely LOVE Blue Mountain coffee! MyThirdGen Posted July 15, 2011 #109 Share Posted July 15, 2011 How much coffee can you bring back? Is it restricted like other items? I could be wrong but as long as it's not for resale I don't think there is a limit. You do have to declare it and possibly present it for inspection to an agricultural specialist with customs. They just check organic materials for pests. Coffee is on the approved items list for being able to bring it into the country.
nanuak Posted July 15, 2011 #110 Share Posted July 15, 2011 How much coffee can you bring back? Is it restricted like other items? Last time I brought back 20 lbs :D, I used to purchase them in the 16oz bags, but its a lot easier to just buy the 5 lb packs. They ask me if they are for gifts, I look at them as if they are crazy and tell them it is all for ME!!!:D
nanuak Posted July 15, 2011 #111 Share Posted July 15, 2011 How much coffee can you bring back? Is it restricted like other items? First of all.... my DH thinks I am crazy when it comes to my coffee expenditure in Jamaica; but I've told him if it truly bothers him, I can buy it for around $50.00 a pound , at Central Market (that always quiets him down). I even bring an "almost" empty rolling suitcase to carry it home. I have carried 20 pounds through customs at the Miami airport, and 20 pounds through customs at both Montego Bay and Port of Galveston. I have never been questioned other than at the port in Montego Bay. I must be watching too much "Locked up Abroad", this sounds like I'm trafficking :D

realmccoy Posted July 16, 2011 #115 Share Posted July 16, 2011 Just checking in on things. Haven't posted to our new board so figured I should. Have some flooding issues I now need to resolve since it is summer. Looks like it is going to cost me $15,000 to fix the flash floods that come thru my backyard. Good news is I don't owe much on the cruise so we will still be able to go. :)

MyThirdGen Posted July 16, 2011 #123 Share Posted July 16, 2011 Kind of scary, I feel really bad for those less fortunate, without A/C, or even a home to shelter in from this heat :( I do too. That's one reason why I miss NY. Nobody really dies from the snow. No scorpions, no rattlesnakes, no bobcats, no tarantulas....just a little snow. Sorry to all of the hardcore Texas proud people but I hate it. Sure there are great places in Texas, I just get to deal with the garbage though. In a cruiser's heart How the music can free them whenever it starts And it's Magic if the music is groovy It makes you feel happy like a lido deck movie I'll tell ya about the Magic It'll free your soul but it's like trying to tell a stranger 'bout Carnival shows If you believe in Magic, don't bother to choose If it's lido deck music or rhythm and blues Just cruise and listen It'll start with a smile It won't wipe off your face no matter how hard you try Your feet start tapping And you can't seem to find How you got there So just blow your mind If you believe in Magic Come along with me We'll dance until morning, just you and me and maybe, if the music is right I'll meet ya tomorrow so late at night We'll go a dancin' baby then you'll see all the Magic's in the music and the music's in me, yeah Do you belive in Magic? Yeah. Believe in the Magic in a cruiser's soul Believe in the Magic of Carnival shows Believe in the Magic that can set you free Ohhhh, talkin' bout Magic Do you believe like I believe?
