I've been thinking about going back to Sunset Beach on this trip.... All I need to do is purchase my 10-15 lbs of coffee beans before we leave this port. I normally jump ship early, and purchase our coffee beans in 5 pound bags then bring back on-board. After that is finished.... we are free to pursue other entertainment :D.

 

Good Coffee? I LOVE coffee so I may have to purchase some too! You will have to tell me where to go though since I have never been there!:o

We went to Sunset Beach in 2007 and had a blast (and got blasted as well). Their Jamaican Teasers are quite tasty and will definitely give you the "Irie Mon" attitude.

As for the coffee, we plan on buying a few bags as well. We absolutely LOVE Blue Mountain coffee!

Not just good coffee.... GREAT coffee :D Wallenford Blue is my favorite brand. We purchased Jablum once and IMHO it is not as good.

I could be wrong but as long as it's not for resale I don't think there is a limit. You do have to declare it and possibly present it for inspection to an agricultural specialist with customs. They just check organic materials for pests. Coffee is on the approved items list for being able to bring it into the country.

Last time I brought back 20 lbs :D, I used to purchase them in the 16oz bags, but its a lot easier to just buy the 5 lb packs. They ask me if they are for gifts, I look at them as if they are crazy and tell them it is all for ME!!!:D

First of all.... my DH thinks I am crazy when it comes to my coffee expenditure in Jamaica; but I've told him if it truly bothers him, I can buy it for around $50.00 a pound :eek:, at Central Market (that always quiets him down). I even bring an "almost" empty rolling suitcase to carry it home.

 

I have carried 20 pounds through customs at the Miami airport, and 20 pounds through customs at both Montego Bay and Port of Galveston. I have never been questioned other than at the port in Montego Bay. I must be watching too much "Locked up Abroad", this sounds like I'm trafficking :D

Just checking in on things. Haven't posted to our new board so figured I should. Have some flooding issues I now need to resolve since it is summer. Looks like it is going to cost me $15,000 to fix the flash floods that come thru my backyard. Good news is I don't owe much on the cruise so we will still be able to go. :)

Yesterday was the 80th day over 100 for us down here in the devils bellybutton. It's horrible again this year. Over 50 dead and we are barely half way though July.

I do too. That's one reason why I miss NY. Nobody really dies from the snow. No scorpions, no rattlesnakes, no bobcats, no tarantulas....just a little snow. Sorry to all of the hardcore Texas proud people but I hate it. Sure there are great places in Texas, I just get to deal with the garbage though.
