Best Piano Entertainer on Carnival? (Part 2)

Hello just popping in to see who is on the legend in November. No luck but I'll keep checking. We have had a long dry spell since we had rocking, Rollicking and a little bit raunchy good time in the piano bar.

I see Ron Pass's contract on the Breeze ends 6/2/2013....what are the chances he resigns a contract to stay on the Breeze? We love him and will be sailing the Breeze first week of Sept.

 

zero chance, Ron is booked on land for a long while after this contract.

If we can't get Joe on the Sunshine for end of the year, it'd be great to sail with Marty. It times out pretty good with his current contract. Just sayin ;)

 

Also interesting to see that Peter's contract is being shortened. Is Carnival actually listening to feedback?

 

Probably not Marty, unless they put someone on for like a only month or so. He will should have around a 30 day break between contracts. So if he gets off on 11-10-13 he would not go on until mid Dec or later. But who know stranger things have happened.

Just off the Carnival Magic-- 7 days from Galveston-- May 12-19th 2013.

 

Great Piano bar player on board "Piano Bar Bob" Berhalter--- he had me in stitches and singing along the whole week.. Bobs a real entertainer and gets everyone going.

 

Do not miss stopping in the Piano Bar if you get a cruise with Bob who also performs in

land based venues and has been in "dueling piano" scenarios and various others in his career. Warning--- this is addictive-- you may find yourself wanting to stop by every nite!

 

Bob has two different agendas or whatever during the nights-- the early songs and crowds are more "Family orientated" with standard versions of all your favorite songs and later-- (after 11pm when less likely of kids walking by etc) he can switch to a more "adult" and R rated versions of even more songs all of which you know and some that you "may" have never heard- but will surely have you laughing and enjoying the crowd participation and originality.

 

You can tell Bob enjoys performing and take one of the song request forms on the bar and have him play and sing along with your favorites.

 

By the way- the Magic is one Great ship and crew--- I'd go again in a minute and I may just be doing that!

Yes, the same as Joe Hollywood. He has been getting raves over on the FB piano Bar-barians page. Lots of fun, lots of energy. He as actually just extended to Oct. 19 to accommodate his fans.

If you had scrolled down 2 or 3 posts, you would see the schedule and that your entertainer will be Liz Strauss. She did a few Carnival contracts a couple years ago, but more recently she was on Celebrity. I read a post on John Heald's FB recently that loved her. My only experience with her was on the Celebrity Constellation in March. But it was a very different environment from a Carnival Piano Bar. Her schedule on Celebrity was very limited and the "piano bar" was more like a library lounge. She has a lovely voice, good piano skills and a decent repertoire. But she always felt a bit detached and forced to me and a bit rushed. Could have been a function of the venue and schedule and the fact that Celebrity is phasing out their piano bars.

 

Give her a try in June/July, I bet she will let her hair down a bit on Carnival!

Just back from Victory. Joe Hollywood Nagy was awesome! We had a great time every night. Some nights had standing room only crowd. Crowded even the last night and I have never seen that. You're in for a treat if you are Victory bound.

Yay! So happy to hear this. My last experience on Carnival was with the Destiny last summer and the piano bar was empty every night. It was my first solo cruise and I had really been looking forward to spending some time there making friends!

One correction....

 

On the elation right now is Darrin Isaacs. We are just off the Elation and he was there every night. He is new to Carnival and I think will develop into a good entertainer. He plays the piano and sings at a face pace with very few breaks between the songs. He take requests and even if he dont fully know the song will give it a great try.

We just got off the Glory. I am shocked to say that James was one of the highlights of our cruise, certainly the entertainment highlight.

 

Great voice ? No but a great pianist and incredibly funny with a wonderful mean/hilarious sense of humour.

Ya gotta hear his circumcision song ,A little off the Top. Or maybe the Beer Song or the Warm Kitty song from the Big Bang Theory.

All killers. Ask him to play Piano Man if you dare.

 

So so funny. His act got more and more adult oriented and funnier and more risqué as the night went on.

Don't want to get him in trouble but he really gives his liver a workout.
