Thanks for the great review !

As a fan of your reviews, I am so glad I came across this one. I have been off CC for a bit, but the time has come and we are getting ready to book our next cruise and its looking like it may be on the Valor.

Thanks for reading! So glad you enjoyed my reviews! I would definitely recommend the Valor. It's a great ship with a great crew. The eastern Caribbean itinerary was fantastic! Also, I think I'm going to email the link to your Fascination review to a friend of mine that will be sailing her in June. It will be her second cruise with her family and they're so excited!

Do you really enjoy solo cruising?

I love solo cruising! Just because I can't find someone that can hang with me doesn't mean I am going to give up one of my favorite things to do! I always seem to find some kind of fun to get into on my solo trips...

The roll calls help. It's nice knowing some of the people that are going to be on the cruise with you. I have also had great luck being seated with some very cool tablemates and hanging out with them much of the cruise.

Keep on cruising...

I think this is the Indian vegetarian dish.

This is actually Chile Rellenos. It is a stuffed poblano pepper that is batttered and deep fried. I've never had it, but one of my friends had it on the Victory and said it was very good for a vegetarian dish. It is not the indian vegetarian option from the daily menu. Carnival offers two vegetarian options almost every day. The first being the indian vegetarian option on the every day menu, and the second being an option that changes daily. My friend liked this and the eggplant dish, and I LOVE the black bean enchiladas, so overall, I'd have to say Carnival does a very good job with the vegetarian options.

I so need to get in shape. Thanks for the encouragement. Do you really enjoy solo cruising? I'm getting divorced, but don't want to give up cruising.

It's easier than you think to get an exercise routine going. It's mind over matter. Start walking or take an exercise class at your gym. The key is to finding something that you love. You may hate running, but love spinning. Good luck!

And yes, I LOVE solo cruising. I think I have a better time by myself than I do with someone else because I do everything that I want to do and don't have to plan my schedule around someone else's. When I first started vacationing solo, it was because my friends were either broke or had family obligations, so I went alone. Now, I have friends asking to join me and I'm turning them down! In addition to solo cruising, I've also taken land trips solo to St. Thomas, Hawaii, Spain (solo for 2 days and with a friend 2 days), and planning 1-2 more big solo trips next year. Don't think too hard about it and go for it. You'll be surprised how much fun you will have.

Thanks for clarifying that. I knew it was something vegetarian but not exactly sure what.

You have the cutest dresses!

Some of that food looked awful...

Thanks for the compliment! Some of the food was really good, and some not so good (cornbread, lol). I never went hungry, but I can say I noticed a little less quality of the food compared to other cruises.

Subscribing so I can read later!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy.

Thanks for your review. IT WAS GREAT!!!:D I love reading the reviews and know they are very time consuming!

Thank you very much! This one took me at least a week to write. I had fun doing it and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Have fun on your Valor cruise!

The lido lunch theme today was American food. Part of that buffet was cornbread, or at least Carnival’s interpretation of what they think cornbread is. I have lived in Tennessee, Texas, and Georgia. I’m 110% southern girl. I know good cornbread. I need my southern folks to back me up here.

This is cornbread.

This is also cornbread.

THIS IS NOT CORNBREAD!!!

Ok, technically it is cornbread because it’s bread with corn on top. However, you can’t put that in front of someone from the south and not expect to get flamed. Paula Deen would have a fit if she tasted this. Even without the corn on top, the bread wasn’t that good. It tasted very “doughy”, like it wasn’t baked long enough.

I’d like to make a deal with the Carnival chefs. Feel free to fly into Atlanta one day. I’ll pick you up from the airport and drive you up 85N to Peachtree Street, where our final destination will be Gladys Knight’s Chicken & Waffles. We’ll order a basket of cornbread and dish on Dancing With The Stars and you can show me pictures of your kids. On the drive back to the airport, I’ll take you around the 285 loop to This Is It Soul Food and get you a couple dozen corn muffins to snack on for your plane ride back. You’ll be back in Florida in time for sailaway. This will give you a taste of good, southern cornbread.

I never thought I’d be writing a dissertation on cornbread, but this needed to be said. :)

Epic fail! That is NOT cornbread! Yuck! lol ... Southern Girl too :)

Thanks for the great review! Tonight, we booked back to back cruises for the Valor in November. I didn't know much about the ship, so this really gave me a lot of info. You had such detailed info. They've changed the menu since we last cruised, so it was nice to see some "food porn" of some of the new dishes. November can't come soon enough!

Hi Amy! Thanks for taking the time to read this long book of a review. I WISH I could have done a back to back because I had such a great time on the Valor. Have fun planning your cruises. I'm sure you'll have a great time!
