This might've been asked, and I may have missed it, but did you have to pay a fee for this session, or was it kind of like, a free thing, to get people to pay to eat at the restaurant? I ship out on Miracle May 14th (!!!!!) and would be interested in doing this, but I'm on a budget.

It was a lot of fun and totally free. Just check the fun times, it is held the first sea day and fills up quickly, so get there early! You get a nice little taste of everything they make, yummy!

Incredible, Fantastic, Outstanding photos...especially the Food Porn...always my favorite...we have a St Bernard that occasionally does some serious salivating...your photos cause more than serious salivating :)

Ahhhhahaha! Thanks so much for the super compliment! I sure had fun taking them! Going on a HAL cruise in 4 weeks & was thinking of doing it again, but I don't know how well received it would be over on those boards....

Awesome pics and review, we are doing this ship in Oct.

Was it worth parking at Weehawkin? The pier wants $35 per night and the ferry is only $9 per person plus $12 per night to park. I use a mobility scooter and my wife would be walking from the drop offf point at midtown, is it an easy walk for her or should I drop her off than park it myself?

Thanks Craig!

We thought it was worth parking in Weehawkin and may be doing it again in a few weeks. Even with taking a taxi to and from the ship (at the ferry drop off point, we could have walked but just had too much in tow) we still saved a good $100. Now the NYC pier parking has gone up $5 per night(was $30) and the Weehawkin ferry parking only went up $2 per night(was $10), making the savings even greater. I think as long as you wife is in fair physical condition the walk is pretty easy, I'd say maybe a 15 min walk. (if you drop her off at the ship first you would have to pay the $$$ toll to get into the city, yuk)

Saw this pop up on the current list - had to check it out because we love the Miracle (we'll miss her :o ) and because we love Bermuda! About halfway through, I realized that it was from 2011! We were on the Miracle in 2011, but to the Caribbean and we were in Bermuda in 2012.

Great review - thanks! I always need Bermuda pics! Loved your Suite - I was thinking about getting one for our June Caribbean on the Splendor - but we were able to get an aft wrap and I had to do it.

Anyway - we follow the Bermuda papers so we keep track of what's going on. The cruise ships are getting too big to fit through the cut in the reef to get into both Hamilton and St George Harbor. Bermuda is trying to move everything out to the Dockyard and build new facilities, but it's a massive undertaking - and it's taking longer than they anticipated.

I have been to Bermuda twice on a cruise. Once a long, long time ago and we docked in Hamilton. And once on the Voyager of the Seas out of Bayonne. That was cool, because I woke up early enough to watch the island come up out of the sea. You can see the lighthouse. from way out/

Lastly, 2-3 days is NOT enough of Bermuda for us, so we usually stay in a cottage on Grape Bay for 10 days. If you look at the pictures here - http://www.gbcbermuda.com/Pages/Gallery.htm - you'll see why!

Can't wait for June, though and our Splendor to GT, HMC & Nassau. Your food porn has me psyched!

Thank you sooooo much for posting your review and pictures, our first cruise was also on the Miracle in September 2011 when we went to the Carribean, looking at your pictures I realised there was so much I missed on the ship. Your pictures are amazing, and I have promised myself i absolutely MUST have one of those chocolate cakes at the bottom shelf in the coffee house.....never got around to it before but it's a must this time. Must also try the MDR for breakfast.
