jmwg49 Posted October 10, 2011 #152 Share Posted October 10, 2011 I think it is interesting that you had such trouble in the MDR for lunches! We never had a wait, the food was good....I think it all depends on the servers and the time. We went every day to the MDR for lunch and breakfast while we were at sea, and glad we did that! I am just not a fan of the crowds in the buffet areas, so maybe that is what turns me off of it! One way or the other, nobody starves, do they?!!??;)
cruisenanny Posted October 10, 2011 Author #153 Share Posted October 10, 2011 I think I snapped these pics on the afternoon of our 2nd to last sea day. view from our balcony And the view if you looked down from the railing of our balcony
cruisenanny Posted October 10, 2011 Author #154 Share Posted October 10, 2011 Love the food porn!!! Thanks! There were so many more great things I could have photo'd, BUT They would be half eaten or GONE by the time I remembered!! LOL I think it is interesting that you had such trouble in the MDR for lunches! We never had a wait, the food was good....I think it all depends on the servers and the time. We went every day to the MDR for lunch and breakfast while we were at sea, and glad we did that! I am just not a fan of the crowds in the buffet areas, so maybe that is what turns me off of it! One way or the other, nobody starves, do they?!!??;) Yep, I wanted to do the MDR for lunch because the lido crowds can get to me sometimes, BUT now I will gladly deal with it! And NO, if one goes hungry on a cruise ship it is their own fault!! LOl BTW, we did MDR b-fast at least 4 times and it was great, one morning we had the most hysterical waiter, Yudi, such a funny guy!:D
cruisenanny Posted October 10, 2011 Author #155 Share Posted October 10, 2011 So, to wrap it up with the last sea day. It was getting cooler outside & again it was a bit overcast, knew we were getting close to home. After our last MDR b-fast, reading our papers and trying to buy a FCC (decided not to. I had heard others say you could put them toward an unpaid balance of an already booked cruise, but he said ABSOLUTELY not. I know that's what he HAS to say, but I decided it just wasn't worth the hassle) Anyhow, we went back to the cabin & decided to deal with the dreaded suitcases under the bed... Hauled 'em out & slowly but surely packed throughout the day.. This MAY have been my lunch today. Was Caribbean day at the International buffet. westview1 Posted October 10, 2011 #156 Share Posted October 10, 2011 Great review! We were on the same sailing as you and had a great time. We ate in the MDR for breakfast and lunch when we could. The service could be a little slow at times, but we took our kindle and nook to pass the time. Great pics.
cruisenanny Posted October 10, 2011 Author #157 Share Posted October 10, 2011 Our last dinner in the MDR. There was an addition on the recent menu changes, sweet potato soup, and i was dying to try it.. It was pretty good. Delicious prime rib again, and asked for another side of that super creamy mac n cheese.... Very good. Then on to Punchliners to see Hal Spears and Carl Faukenberry again. cruisenanny Posted October 10, 2011 Author #158 Share Posted October 10, 2011 So... that's petty much it folks! Was a great cruise & it far exceeded our expectations in almost every way. From entertainment, to food & service and the overall ship itself, I have no complaints worth mentioning. Would do it again in a heartbeat, the suite was worth far more than what we paid (just under 1k pp). Thanks Carnival, it was great! Next up, towel animals & cruise toes! Anyone not interested, please read no further!:D

cruisenanny Posted October 10, 2011 Author #160 Share Posted October 10, 2011 Here are a few photos that I took of the Miracle. Let me know if you find yourself! I enjoyed the Dawn cruise. Only complaint is I wish the weather had been better... Thanks! I don't think I see us, but it is hard to tell! How was the weather for you in Bermuda after we left? cruisenanny Posted October 10, 2011 Author #161 Share Posted October 10, 2011 Last but certainly not least, towel animals. I think our steward may have skipped a day or two at TAU (towel animal university) but he tried. This is the only one we were completely stumped on. Chris said it was a cat, I said a dragon of some sort (probably not the fire breathing variety though, I hear these are discouraged at sea & therefore NOT a subject of study at TAU) I know I had promised a wrap up post of any skipped food porn, but I do believe it has all been shown already, except for a lonely bowl of cream of broccoli soup that was quite good, but has chosen to remain anonymous... Thanks everyone for reading, it was a lot of fun. I will definitely do this again for our 12th annual anniversary Disney pilgrimage in January, which includes a much anticipated 5 night Ecstasy cruise this time!! Woo Hoo! I had tears leaving bermuda.....:( I hear ya, I was pretty sad to leave also. With all of Friday being up in the air as to whether we were staying or leaving, then Saturday was a wash out due to the rain, we really only had Sunday to relax & enjoy. This is the chance we take this time of year, but it just didn't seem long enough..(not that it ever does):)

TOYCRAZY Posted October 11, 2011 #170 Share Posted October 11, 2011 So, after the lido lunch it was... you guessed it, nap time! I think I napped on the balcony for a bit this day. Then time for in room cocktails, getting ready for dinner, etc.. Tonight was the "oddball" menu they throw in for the 8 night cruises. We both had the NY strip and they were EXCELLENT, a WOW dish for both of us. I also got a side of the mac & cheese I had heard great things about. It was kind of bland but had a great creamy texture. Good enough that I tried it again later in the week.. Chris had the vanilla bread pudding for dessert & LOVED it, me not so much. I had the almond phyllo rolls and they were AMAZING, yep, another WOW dish for me!! It was a good night in the MDR for sure. After dinner we went to see The best of Marcus Monroe, comedian juggler. He was pretty good & did some clever stuff. We left a few minutes early to go catch Marc Theobald in the Punchliners comedy club, another funny one! Chris joined me tonight in a froo froo drink, pina coladas, very good. After this we snuggled up for the night, Bermuda was tomorrow & we were hoping for the best. Ophelia was headed there as a cat 2-3 storm:( HI Cruisenanny, I was on this cruise to Bermuda with you. I'm reading through your review and it is excellent. It was our 1st cruise of many I expect to come in the future. I just saw that you posted about going to the Marcus Monroe show. I'm not sure if it was the same night but my husband, Mike (super shy) was called up on stage to be one of the helpers, haha, so maybe you saw him. I didnt get to connect with anyone from cruise critic during our sailing, had no access to phone/internet and have a lot of CRS so couldn't remember where everyone planned to meetup. We had a great time on the ship and in Bermuda. I want to go back and visit there again! I will try to post a review also, your is awesome! I love your pics, you got more shots then I did. Looking forward to reading more of your review. Dawn
