The Fountainhead cafe area, the entrance to Maguires, Frankie & Johnnies, and the sushi bar are all connected by a nice water feature & sitting area. We would sit here every morning after breakfast, Chris would read the "newspapers" you could get here & I would scan the funtimes for things we wanted to do that day.

So sometime after 5 this first day, we sampled the sushi. I thought it was pretty decent & wanted to get back there another night to take a photo, but we never did. (You can only eat so much, lol)

Then we went to our 8:15 late dinner seating. I LOVE it when we get a friendly, funny, nice team of waiters for dinner service, it is the reason we chose a set dining time vs "Your time dining" or whatever any particular line happens to call it. Sadly, it was not the case this cruise. After being seated at our requested table for two (thank you Drasko!!), we eagerly waited to meet our waiters, and waited, and waited... Finally someone came over to us with pad & pen in hand & said "what will you have?"

So we ordered. A LOT! My rule of thumb for the week was to never eat more than2 or 3 bites of anything unless it was a WOW dish, it worked out well & this way I got to try a lot of things. In my review, I will point out all the things that I thought were WOW dishes. Chris is a Chef and a little harder to impress, but I can tell you that overall he thought the food was good to very good, and that is saying something coming from him.

Chris had the pasta & sausage as an appetizer portion, it was tasty. He also tried the beef barley soup & said it was good. For his entree he got the brisket, also very good.

I tried the chicken tenders, adventurous, I know! They were exactly what you would expect & tasty. Then I tried the cured salmon & candied tomato app, it was just ok. For my entree I had the sweet & sour shrimp, WOW dish.

For dessert we ordered 3:eek::o The Black forest cake, thumbs down, didn't taste like anything. The diet orange cake, yummy, and the Creme Brulee, WOW dish. We also ordered 2 cappuccinos & received 1 after we had already had our fill of the desserts.. The cappuccino was actually pretty good, but it was different. It was pretty strong & more like an espresso with the foam on top.

I forgot my camera this night, sorry. Here is a pic of the cappuccino from another time.

The entrance doors to the Baccus dining room. This sort of "interesting" artwork is everywhere on the ship.

I don't recall much more of this evening, I was in a food coma & pretty tired. I think maybe we went to the casino for a bit & then turned in. No shows this night. Here is a pic of the casino bar.

The casino has a cool nautical theme & these were on the walls everywhere. Very pretty.

I left hubby sleeping & headed to the gym at 6 a.m. (don't worry, he got in a good workout before we went to breakfast later that morning) There are plenty of treadmills, 6 elipticals (my cardio of choice), and some bikes here & there. Up about a half a flight of stairs from this level is a hot tub & a few more machines. Up another half flight of stairs are all the weight machines & free weights. They had a better selection than I expected & I was able to get in a very decent workout, very similar to my normal routine.

We were in OS 6174. I think if you have any OS on deck six mid-ship, your cabin will be exactly like this one. Enjoy, we thought it was very nice!

OMG, that is the cabin we have in February! Thanks and it rocks!

Thanks everybody! I really appreciated looking at things from the perspective of what I would've liked to see while I was so eagerly waiting to go. I feel like it made me look around & take notice a little more.

This is my first review & I'm enjoying writing it, I have the luxury of time at the moment, so it's keeping me busy!! I'm glad you all like the pics:)

There is lots more to come, including many Bermuda pics.

Stay tuned:p (Be patient, I do have to TRY to get to unpacking, laundry & grocery shopping today, I suppose I will have to make dinner too!! Humphf! lol)

So after I got back from the gym our coffee & fruit arrived from room service. Chris then went for his workout & we went to the MDR for breakfast after that. Most mornings Chris got a cheese omelette & I got eggs benedict. My favorite! I suggest ordering the sauce on the side, or this is what you may get.. Believe it or not, it was still tasty, just not "saucy". We both got the chicken sausage & hash browns, pretty good.

bermudacruise076.jpg

And another day this is what we got when we asked for a "fruit cup" in the MDR for breakfast!! WOW

After breakfast we puttered around & took some more pics. It was still pretty cloudy & damp outside, we won't have a nice day out til tomorrow, our second sea day..

So after touring the ship a bit more, we decided to go to the cooking demo in the steakhouse. I highly recommend it for anyone who loves good food, even my "stuffy Chef hubby" really enjoyed it. This solidified our plans to go to Nick & Nora's steakhouse on night five.

They bring out 4 chefs who will be cooking each course, soup, salad, entree & dessert. You are given tiny samples of each course after it is demo'd by the chef. First was a delicious cream of mushroom soup followed by a spinach salad, then the steakhouse's only chicken dish and last, a WOW tiramisu.

Shaun, the assistant CD is in the background here. He was Great all week, a funny guy!

So after the cooking demo, we walked around a bit & then went to the MDR for lunch. This was on my list of to-do's as I have never gone before, we have always done the lido. After 2 MDR lunch experiences o this cruise, I recommend the lido for lunch. The service was painfully slow & the food was not worth the wait. Chris got vegetable fajitas & I got the Mongolian steak salad. We both got the sushi as a starter, the nori was so tough we couldn't chew it and the filling was mostly cream cheese. More on our 2nd MDR lunch experience when we get there. After this lunch, it is nap time:)

After a loooong nap, we woke up & leisurely started getting ready for dinner. We asked to switch to Your time dining today & once again Matre' d Drasko came through for us immediately. (he got a nice tip at the end).

We weren't crazy about where our late dining table for two was. (especially after a man ran by us vomiting on the first night! I felt horrible for him, but I must say it kind of put a damper on an already lackluster experience) Sooo, we figured if we weren't going to have a FUN experience with our wait team, why be tied down to the 8:15 dining time? As it turned out, the Your time dining was AWESOME and we found a great waiter, Marjam.

So we had a few cocktails in the room while getting ready, and then we took our carry on "bubbly" to Jeeves lounge to people watch a bit before dinner. We saw everything from Tuxedo's to shorts on the two elegant nights. It was nbd & everyone was happy.

bermudacruise068.jpg

There were REALLY cool old photos above the chairs in Jeeves lounge. This is where the trivia was held each day.

bermudacruise230.jpg

I had the stuffed mushrooms, WOW dish for me, and we both had the lobster & shrimp AND the prime rib!! Both were excellent. We shared our first ever warm choc melting cake and it was YUMMY. Soooo rich though, I only liked the cooked edges & Chris preferred the center "melted" part, what a team we are:p.

I'm sorry, but it seems the only thing I photographed was the stuffed mushrooms.

Cruisenanny,

Sorry we didn't get to meet on this cruise. Missed the meet and greet. Did you make it there? I did meet captbill the first day though (recognized his hat) and was able to thank him for all his valuable info on Bermuda.

I loved the spa on the miracle. Spent a lot of time (and $) there. Had four treatments with three different girls and they were all lovely. The showers were awesome. I took only one shower in our cabin. We had a deck 7 forward cabin close to the stairs/elevators, so everyday I ran up the 2 decks and used the spa showers. Would leave my robe in the sauna while I showered, so it was nice and warm when I got out. It was always empty when I was there, and all I had to bring was conditioner and a washcloth. I think that is what I miss most ;)

I am really enjoying your review!

After dinner we decided to change into comfy clothes & go see "Just June"s" adult comedy show at the Punchliners comedy club down in the Mad Hatters ball. She was funny & so were all the comedians we saw throughout the week.
