Does bottled wine fit in stateroom fridges?

I don't recall the size of the refridgerators in the staterooms and for the first time we are bringing on bottles of wine. Will we have room to chill our white wine in the fridge?

If you take the shelf out it will fit. You have to take out all the minis and can soda and beer first.

You would be better to chill in a bucket with ice. The fridge does not cool very well.

You can move the small cans around the wine.

 

We find if the frig is closed all day it will do a somewhat decent job of chilling wine.

 

We bring on a box and it does ok.

I agree, it is just cooler than room temp. You're better off with a bucket and ice.

Just ask your steward for a bucket of ice.

Our room steward has always supplied a bucket of ice as soon as they see we have wine. Keeps it full twice a day!!:)

Sailed on Splendor last month. The wine bottle (750ml size) did fit diagonally onto the bottom shelf in the fridge and we were able to fit cans into the gaps in front and behind. The other 2 shelves - we put cans in there. Nothing will fit in the door of the fridge as it only holds those little tot bottles. Steward did remove their items on the shelves - he put them in the cupboard next to the fridge.

 

We did move the fridge forward about an inch so that a gap was created such that the small cupboard door will remain open ever so slightly. That way any heat generated from the motor would come out and not create additional heat inside the cupboard housing the fridge.

 

To be honest, everything in the fridge was cold whenever we needed it - although we do put ice in everything anyway. Also if we knew we were down to the last glass of wine in the bottle it would be finished that evening so we could put in the next bottle of wine for the next afternoon's balcony drinks.:cool:
