Thanks so much Wayne - enjoyed following along with you to Sydney, and it was great to get to meet you. Hope to see you again one of these cruises. Enjoy the rest of your travels and I'll keep an eye out for a live from the Sea Princess to continue following your journey!

Just wanted to add a couple comments on getting off in Sydney as a close to this wonderful cruise.

We arrived in Sydney about on time but the 2 of us slept through it. When we got up to the buffet it had been raining but had stopped by then and there was a bit of clearing in the sky. The view from Darling Harbour dock is not as nice as from Queens Quay where the larger ship dock but we could see both of Sydney main bridges and some of the old city (the Rock area).

Our colour tag was for 8:30 and was called at 8:45. We still took our time and were the last off of that group. We marked our customs card ‘nothing to declare’ and went through very quickly.

Princess continues to gouge its passengers for transfers. It is mind boggling that 2 people can conveniently take an individual vehicle (taxi) to the airport for $44 but two people in a bus full of others all of whom are paying $29 each.

Airport security is similar to North American but I did not have to take off belt or shoes. We ended up having plenty of time to catch the 11 AM flight to Melbourne but booked a later flight in case there were issues.

We have had a very busy time in beautiful Melbourne - did a half day city tour followed by a tour to Philip Island to see the Little Penguins march ashore at sunset - gone from 7:10 to midnight and next day did drive along the magnificant Great Ocean Rd. Many hotels have expensive internet but tonights is free. It has been unseasonable cool with a very cool Ocean breeze but still worth it. Tomorrow morning we start the drive back to Syndey to join the Sea Princess. Driving on the opposite side of the road has been going well but it does force you to concentrate and think a bit more before making any moves.

Hope you can join me as we cruise to Tasmania and New Zealand.

Wayne,

So glad you are enjoying your time in Melbourne. Yesterday was sunny but the wind was cool. You have a lovely day to enjoy your drive back to Sydney. Take care and I look forward to hearing about your cruise on the Sea Princess.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just caught up with this thread;we got home last night. Thanks for continuing it. Sorry to hear that noro got to the ship; they'll get rid of it as always.

Also surprised to hear that Happy Hour drinks were raised again. Interesting that they lowered them to $2.99 on our cruise and then raised them again. Such is life.

Thanks again to all who following along and thanks again to Wayne who kept it going.
