carnival Pride Dining Room Dress Code

Recommended Posts

Most evenings we have a Cruise Casual dress code, but there are those Cruise Elegant evenings one or two nights throughout the voyage where guests will have the opportunity to showcase their more elegant attire. Both dress codes for the dining rooms are described below and pertain to children as well.

For those who want casual attire for dinner time, the Seaview Bistro on the Lido Deck is open nightly and has a more relaxed theme. However, shirts and shoes/footwear (flip-flops) must be worn at all times inside the Lido Restaurant.

Dining Room - Cruise Casual Dining Dress Code

Gentlemen: sport slacks; khakis; jeans (no cut-offs); dress shorts (long); collared sport shirts

Ladies: casual dresses; casual skirts; casual pants; blouses; summer dresses; Capri pants; dress shorts; jeans (no cut-offs)

Not permitted in the dining room: gym shorts; basketball shorts; beach flip-flops; bathing suit attire; cut-off jeans; sleeveless shirts for men; baseball hats.

Dining Room - Cruise Elegant Dining Dress Code

Gentlemen: dress slacks, dress shirts, and we also suggest a sport coat; men may also wish to bring suits and ties or tuxedos.

Ladies: cocktail dresses; pantsuits; elegant skirts and blouses; ladies may also wish to bring evening gowns.

Not permitted in the dining room: shorts; T-shirts; beach flip-flops; bathing suit attire; jeans; cut-off jeans; sleeveless shirts for men; sportswear; baseball hats.

Cruise Elegant Evenings

The length of the cruise determines the number of Cruise Elegant evenings in the Dining Room. The first Cruise Elegant evening is scheduled for the 2nd or 3rd day of the cruise; the second Cruise Elegant evening is scheduled for the 2nd or 3rd day prior to the end of the cruise, schedules permitting.

1-day cruise: none

2-day to 5-day cruise: one Cruise Elegant evening

6-day or longer cruise: two Cruise Elegant evenings

we are leaving next sunday for bahamas on the Pride and I am wondering a few things about the dining room...

1. how many Formal nights are there ?

2. what is the dress code ?

thank again for your assistance

I will be there with ya!

There are 2 formal nights on our cruise but the dress code is a little more laid back from what I can tell from here. On celebrity I wore suits on formal nights. Here I am doing dress pants and a nice button down shirt. No jacket and tie. dw is wearing a nice dress both nights.

Hope this helps! And I will see ya at the bar! Its always 5 o'clock somewhere!

Before our cruise in Sept, some were saying people don't really go all out for elegant nights on Pride, i found that to be wrong, people were dressed up very nicely, most men in suits and most women in dressy dresses. I did not dress up as much as i did on my previous RCL cruises, i actually felt under-dressed and was thankful that Martin wore his suit.

that's the biggest complaint. people get embarrased for being underdressed taking the word of others here, as opposed to reading the dress code, posted above, and get an idea of what is the norm.

Well I read the dress code and was dressed accordingly, just felt under-dressed compared to how I dressed for other cruises.

nothing will happen, dg. you may even get shrimp cocktail! :p

Don't like shrimp. Give me a cold beer and I am all good. And as much as I wish my shorts and t-shirt would fly, my dw would never allow it :D and 13 years of marriage has taught me that if she is not happy, I am not happy :)

Not going to start a new thread but was wondering what the ship (the Pride) has to do with dress code as Carnival has a uniform dress code.

Then thought well maybe there is a difference in how people dress based if not on the ship then on the length of the cruise or perhaps time of year.

I have heard that the dress is more casual on shorter cruises but don't know if this is true.

So do people dress up more or less on elegant nights on different Carnival cruises?
