What's the most you've won on a cruise???

On the Legend last year I won $2500 on the first night playing the 10x quarter machine. Two nights later I won $2500 again on a different 10x machine. DH was in the cabin sleeping when I came in from the 2nd win so I decided to wake him by dropping the $100 bills on his head. It worked. He woke up and asked me what I was doing and I explained that I had won again on the slot machine. I was so excited and thought that he would be too but all he said was "did they give you another 1099"!?!?!?! Spoken like a true CPA!!!

I won on two separate Wheel of Fortune slot machines, I think on the Fantasy, just one night apart. I won a high jackpot spin on a $1 machine, $500, the other was the quarter machine, $250. It was great!

well, when I went on my second cruise, we were on the Disney Magic, and my whole family went to watch Who Wants to be a Mousketeer? (only because I forced them-- I was 12) it's basically where they pick random people from the audience to play who wants to be a millionaire? well my brother got picked(he was 14) and my dad got to go up with him since he was under 18. anyway, they got up to the second to last level, $500 and they got that question right. when they asked the last question ( Idont remember what it was), my brother didn't know the answer, so they took the $500 shipboard credit. when the host asked him what answer he would have given, the answer he gave would have been correct! which means he would have gotten a free cruise for 2. oh well, he bought me a really ptretty necklace. haha

On my last night on the Glory, I took my last 25 dollars (last 25 allocated for gambling) to the roulette table, sat down, and began to play the dozen bets at 2:1 odds. I won steadily for the next three or four hours and walked away from the table with 2700 bucks.

That WAY more than offset my previous losses over the past few days (but I had won some on some other days, too) and left me WELL ahead.

Roulette is the game I enjoy most when I'm winning. When I'm losing, I don't enjoy any game. I'm not likely to get addicted because winning is always followed by losing, eventually. When you win, RUN AWAY.

I put a drawing in for the first NCL cruise you see listed below. It was at a grocery store - Cruise with the NASCAR racers. Now that was fun! Meeting and getting autographs and hearing stories about their race days.

Love the whole cruise,

Carol

My boyfriend at the time, husband, now,and I were on Navigator of the Seas. On the second day of our cruise, he proposed, and, as you may have guessed, I said yes!! Then, on New Year's Day, he hit a Royal Flush playing Caribbean Stud!!! I am not real sure of the total, somewhere around $26,000!! They paid him in cash, and I had to carry it home in my purse!! Guess what they gave him in the casino to carry it back to the room in?? A slot machine coin cup!! CRAZY!! That was my first cruise! Well, to be honest, it was my first time I had been on more than a 2 night get away in 25 years!! Needless to say, I am addicted to cruising now!! We have been on 3 more in the last year and a half, and one planned already for January! :D

We cruised on NCL Dawn last November for our honeymoon. One afternoon, I dragged the DH down to play bingo, he went kicking and screaming. I won nothing on bingo! After the games were over, they told us to come back the following morning and they would draw the raffle tickets that they had handed out to every person who played bingo, this would be the big prize. Well, the DH said that there was no sense in going in the morning because there were so many people with tickets that we werent going to win. Well, again I dragged him the next morning kicking and screaming down to the lounge where they were going to have the drawing. He fell asleep in the chair and they called my ticket number. I woke him up and told him that we had won and he told me to stop playing and then he drifted back off to sleep. I then went up on stage to claim my prize. The person sitting next to my DH woke him up again and told him that I was up on stage and that I had won a free 7 day cruise. He looked over said "I hope shes's right or she just embarrased both of us."

Nuttmegg,

That's funny. But hey, if one of you win, that's the important part!!! I wind up sitting and watching my husband play the machines because he is the winner. I lose the money I put in my machines. How did he feel when you actually got ready to go on the cruise that you won? He won't take you for granted ever again, right??? LOL.

Really neat thread. The wife and I enjoy just relaxing around the slots once in awhile. We always have a limit and try not to cheat. We have hit several nice pots over several cruises. But last year we were sitting in a quiet corner...three machine apart. I wasn't even watching the wheels...just talking to her. All of a sudden the music started playing on my machine. It took me a second to do the math...$50x10x10=$5,000. I almost fainted. Well, after about a half hour of signing tax forms and getting paid in 100's and having a very nice chat with the casino manager who was from the states, I walked down to give the wife a hug. She quietly had built her machine up to $1,400 without saying a word. She said, "It didn't seem like much compared to yours!?!?!"

During the cruise we had become good friends with a family we had met through our CC board last year. They had lost some in the casino during the trip. After the show on the last night I talked the wife into going with us back to the casino for one last shot. She put a 20 in the machine I had won on and hit $1,200 on the first play. Needless to say, we became even better friends.

We've discovered something over the years...we give it away in the quarter machines over a long period of time, then get it all back in one pull on a dollar machine. We're looking forward to our next cruise next March. We "might" spend a couple of hours in the casino:D

:D I won a poem contest on a Princess cruise and had a big canvas bag delivered to my room. It was just packed with goodies, picture frame, mug, umbrella, candy, magnets, pen set, lots more, but I can't remember it all. They read it on air too so it was fun! :)

Jo,

That's funny. Let's see...we're sailing on NCL Pearl on March 30...wanna go along? On 2nd thought, knowing how those machines have a way of gettinjg even, you better stay away from us...we're doomed! The neat part of that story that I didn't share was that when we left the casino that night, I went and checked my e-mail only to discover that one of our married children back home was in serious financial trouble. Our next island found us at a bank wiring money home. We came away from that entire thing saying, "yes there is a God and He must be able to even work through slot machines." :) Good luck Jo!

In June DH won art at the auction, than had to pay $80 for handling and shipping! Never again will we caught up in that kind of winning.

This past Dec. DH won $60 at the table. Sort of off set the art shipping.

DD won $160 at bingo. It was exciting for her as this was her first cruise. Her husband won $30 at the table.

My wife and I don't gamble, so you can imagine her suprise when I suggested we put in a few dimes on a machine that was stationed by the casino door(we were waiting for the photo shop to open). The wife popped in 5 dimes(max bet) and pulled the lever. The machine lit up like the Forth of July and payed off $275. "Great", she said, "Now we can buy more pictures!!!" We still haven't gambled since.............

Our Cruise Critic m&m group organized the purchase of a horse on the bids for our Brilliance cruise. Had great fun on the thread with it. Was a big part of our onship gathering of the Krispy Kruisers (group of potentially sunburnt people who enjoy Krispy Kreme donuts). We each paid $20 and the group of 22 (I think was the number) won $1500..nice profit and most went back to the ship via the casino and shops :)
