My mom sat down at a machine just be next to my sister a few years ago on the NCL Sun. She pulled out 3 quarters, put them in, and won $5000. Spent $18000 on a necklace the next day in Cozumel :>)

no free drinks on a cruise, I'm sorry to say.

 

Just got back from the Eastern Caribbean on the zuiderdam. Didn't win anything in the casino, but only lost $40....so I guess I did fairly well!

I won the progressive jackpot on a video poker machine on the NCL Sun in March 05 -- Got a royal flush (.25 machine) for $1,250.00 Yippee!! Paid my OBC account -- gave some really good tips! Played some more! I love this thread !! 2 weeks, 4 days till the Jewel !! 3 card poker here I come!!

when I cruised on the Carnival Sensation last year I was in the casino for quite a while and I had my card inserted to accumulate points. At one point a worker came over and asked me if I would like a complimentary drink, they must have been tracking what I spent.

My FIL won $3,750 on a $1.00 slot on NCL in November 06. It was his first cruise! And yes, he did get the famous 1099 to use in filing his taxes. Didn't matter though, it really made the trip fun (and free) for them!! ;)

Ok, my husband is the luckier out of both of us. So we decided to day trip to Atlantic City. We played slots in 5 casinos. We had lots of little wins and losses. However, it turned out at the end of the day we came home $15 in the hole. My best win was the last game. I put $5 in the machine and won back $25. He had lots of $5 in and $12-13 won. Many times we just lost. I guess his luck is better on ships. 8-)

We took our son and his first 'serious' girlfriend on our first cruise in 1998. They played bingo all week and my son won the final jackpot of $5,000 dollars. My husband (who had been paying for there cards) made him split the winnings with his girlfriend and he wasn't very happy!

One Christmas instead of a money bonus, my DH's employers took everyone on a 4 day Mexican cruise. The first night out one of my DH's co-workers won $14,000.00 on the craps table!!!!:D I didn't know about this and so returning from a slot machine where I had just won some money myself, I walked up to our group all excited because I had won $20, duh!!!:o

A free 7-Day cruise w/oceanview cabin at the last Bingo game of the week. It was a 3 way tie, and I was lucky enough to pick the highest number ball in the tie breaker.

 

They provided a certificate good for 1 year, including fare & port charges, and all I had to pay was the gov't tax on the tickets - around $52 at the time. Of course the value of the cruise is also taxable as gambling income, and the cruise line sends you a 1099 form, but you can offset gambling winnings with gambling losses (and the good news/bad news was that I had enough to cover it) :).

We also won the giant jackpot game on Carnival...got the suite with balcony...it was fabulous. I took my then 6 yr old daughter to play bingo with me...and we shared a card...when we got close to the black out I said if he calls ____ we need to jump up and do the bingo boogie...which we did along with an older lady...we went to the stage and each pulled a bingo ball...I let my daughter pull the ball and we won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The lady filed a complaint to the cruise director saying that I let my little girl GAMBLE!!! puleeeaze....everyone brings there kids...anyway we had a blast. Have never played bingo again!:D:D:D:D:D

Last year on the Dawn, I won the entry into the slot tournament (value $5).

 

Then I won the slot tournament (value $500).

 

Then on the last full day, won the pull-tab "Win-A-Cruise". That was valued at about $1200. That was for a seven day, inside cabin. We're upgrading, but at least part of the cruise is paid for . . .

Lucky people to win a cruise. Our radio station has a "loyal listener" club and they give out keywords that you go online and put in the website. I didn't win the bid on the cruise, but someone did. I am not the winner at gambling, my husband is. I feel like I need luck in other parts of my life.

I took my mom on a cruise for her 50th birthday and she won $500 on the quarter slots after only spending $9.25. Of course she stopped and walked with her winnings....

 

My son won a golden plastic ship on a stick doing the scanvenger hunt on the CCL Victory last year.

my dh and I won the newlywed game on the zenith once, and that same cruise my dh won the electric slide contest, (he was really the entertainment.) both prizes were tshirts and a bottle of champagne! we really had a great time with both.

About 12 years ago on the Norway I was lucky enough to win $6,500, on the quarter slots. It was late at night and we were not sleepy. We took our little bucket and went to the casino. I waited for the little grey hair lady to empty her bucket then I tried the machine. I won on the second try. The casino brought out this stack of cash and counted out my winnings. They would not cut a check, so off we went and got the last safe deposit box on the cruise. The best part was we were traveling w/ two other couples. We woke them in the middle of the night to tell them. They thought we were joking until we paid their bar tabs the rest of the cruise. We gave them some of the cash. We wanted them to have fun with us. We paid off our ss acount in cash. Have only broke even since.

This past March on the NCL Spirit my DH was playing the Wheel Of Fortune machine and hit a spin and won $1,000.

 

Then on our last night we went to the casino and I played the 1cent machine and after playing with my $7.00 I hit the jackpot for $1300.00. I was thrilled. I was so excited my Dh and I sat down near the wheel of Fortune game to calm down when he decided to put $20.00 in the machine. Suddenly he turned to me and said "did I win something?" he had 3 diamonds across and won $1600.00. THe casino host came over and said "a winner, and from the same family" He had just finished paying me off. lol

 

My DH gave him $100 tip and this guy went over the top thanking him. I thought the guy had never seen that much money before, he was so excited.

 

So between those winnings and the nearly $950. my DH won during the week playing BJ, we paid for the cruise and our ship tab for the 5 days.
