Read the fine print! No IT CAN NOT BE USED FOR GRATUITY!

according to the CCL website!

That may be true on CCL, but on HAL, it can. Just did it last month. For a 14 day cruise, our room bill was about $150, as our shareholder credit, along with our OBC for FCD, paid for all of our service charge, plus portions of other purchases.

While you're reading the fine print on the CCL website, I'm reading my bill. The amount of CCL stockholder credit has been applied to my bill after all! :)

The reality is that all my credits are applied at the top of the bill, then the charges subtracted, to come up with a running total. When the credit is gone, my real costs start.
