Unless it has recently changed, S-Class ships have an outdoor smoking outside on one side of Deck Five. That is the lowest deck with smoking.

Deck 5, port side on the Silhouette. I was there quite often. There are smoking areas set up on the front and back of the ship on that area of deck 5.

 

On deck 12 there is a smoking section as well, on the port side. The outside bar area you're referring to is probably that. I did most of my smoking there as it was close to my room on deck 11.

 

As much as I like to smoke, I also am glad they got rid of smoking in the Sky Observation lounge. I never understood why they allowed people to smoke there because it is a venue that they use for a lot of different events. It seems strange that of all indoor places, they would want to stink up that joint. So in that respect, I am very glad they are getting rid of the smoking there. I was also glad that for once I was in a casino that didn't allow smoking. As much as I like to smoke, I never smoke on tables in casinos. I find it annoying when others do it, and I certainly don't want to perpetuate it!

Wonderful news! We had to leave the Cruise Critic party on the Eclipse in May of 2010 due to the smoke. We are on her again in October for the transatlantic and will look forward to having a smoke-free environment!

It is actually near midship - the front and back of the ship are not accessible to passengers on deck five. It is right near the midship exterior doors in the vicinity of where Bistro on 5 is located.

We were on the Equinox from 1/2/12/-/1/13/12 and there was no smoking in the Sky Lounge each evening when we were there for the Elite Captain's Club Cocktail Hour. It was a pleasant surprise.

Hooray...can finally take advantage of the elite functions in sky lounge. Last November on the Eclipse they still had smoking there.

on our recent cruise on silhouette (january 5-17), celebrity modified its smoking policy and now prohibits smoking anywhere inside the ship.

 

Previously, smoking was allowed in part of the sky lounge.

 

No more.

The casinos have been smoke free for a long time. The only indoor areas that have smoking in them now are crew areas.
