Boardwalk Posted January 21, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2012 Can I bring my own wine on board a NCL cruise? I know I did this for a RCL cruise a few years ago, but don't know if it was technically "allowed" :)
cb at sea Posted January 21, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 21, 2012 It wasn't "allowed" on the RCI cruise at all...you got lucky!
njhorseman Posted January 21, 2012 #3 Share Posted January 21, 2012 You can bring as much wine as you want onto NCL ships, but you will be charged a corkage fee of $15 for each 750ml bottle you bring on board. You are not permitted to bring boxed wine on board.
Krazy Kruizers Posted January 21, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 21, 2012 Sorry -- you can not bring hard alcohol onto the ship.
trish1c Posted January 21, 2012 #5 Share Posted January 21, 2012 On NCL, if you put the wine in your carry on, when you pass through the boarding security you will be directed to a table where they will count your bottles & issue you a dining room check for the # of bottles times $15 (3 bottles x $15 - $45). You are then free to do what you want with your wine. If you pack the wine in your suitcase, your stuff won't be delivered to your cabin. You will get a note directing you to the "naughty room" where you will unpack it in front of everybody & receive the same check in the same amount. P.I.T.A. At the end of the cruise if you have unopened wine that you "paid" for, you can bring the bottle to the front desk & get a credit.
